Yeah, we're pretty wired up right now. At least I am. We finished our scrapbooks over the weekend - up through the wedding. USCIS will just have to settle for loose pics and stuff after that point.

I finished the I-864's tonite. Need to sign them and get them notarized and copy the whole deal.

We have all the immigration docs, etc., rounded up and in our wheelie case.

We will drive up to Pittsburgh on Wednesday afternoon. The interview is first thing 9am sharp Thursday morning. I hope like hell we get somebody who's a morning person.

I'm a damn nervous wreck. This is the first part of this process I have felt this way about. If all goes well, I'm getting seriously hammered this weekend.

I will fully support your getting hammered this weekend, as I will be out getting hammered myself (St. Patrick's Day parade this weekend and all the bars open at 7 a.m. with 17-cent drafts!) :D

I really don't think you'll have any issues, Rebecca. And then you will have worried yourself to death for nothing. You have all your bases covered, and you have nothing to hide, so it will be fine. Try to breathe!

There's no worries about the AOS. It really is as easy as the visa interview and somewhat of an anti-climax apart from the relief of not having to deal with them for a few yews. But beware, that time creeps up too!

All right, well, I'm afraid we're spending quite a bit of time on the computer today trying to figure out all these forms. Can anyone help? We're trying to figure out if we actually need the I-131 advance parol. When they say it's needed for temporary travel during the application process do they mean until the AOS is approved (hopefully within the next 90 days) and you are officially a conditional temporary resident? Or do they mean until that you can't re-enter the US without this approved form until the conditions are dropped two years from now? Basically we don't plan on traveling outside the US for at least 5 months. So do we need to shell out another $170 or what? Thanks, Weebeansy!!!!!

It depends, weeb. First of all, it's very VERY unlikely your AOS will be approved within 90 days. I guess it's theoretically possible, but even a "short" AOS process is usually more like 4-6 months. Some VJers wait 9 months, a year, or longer before they see a green card.

So about Advance Parole...what AP gives your sweetie is the chance to re-enter the country, should he choose to leave, after a brief absence, before your AOS is complete but after his K-1 is expired. And whether he files for it is entirely up to him. If he has no plans to travel back to the UK before AOS is complete (allowing for the fact that you have no idea how long it might take), and there's nothing that might theoretically require him to travel back on an emergency basis, then you could choose to go without filing for it. But if he's wanting, say, to spend the holidays with his family in the UK, or if he wants the security of knowing that he could go back to the UK on a moment's notice without jeopardizing his ability to re-enter the country, then he should file for it.

Thanks Pax....and thanks for being so quick to answer as well.....you should see us sitting here....we're buried in piles of forms. This is just silly. All right, so once he eventually has a green card he can come and go as he pleases (provided, of course that he doesn't leave for more than a year)? Another question I've got is...Do we need to worry about submitting any medical stuff for the AOS? It seems as though it's not necessary but then in a few places I've read that you need to submit a vaccination history. Back to the papers....Weebeansy

LOL - WHY are you doing this on your wedding day?

Irregardless, yes you need to put the vaccine worksheet and supplement in your AOS packet.

Hey hey, we grad-g-ated! Good to see you all again!

Sorry I've been nonexistant for so long, but here's the long and short of it.

After C's London approval, I moved and changed jobs. That job sucked.. now I have a new one, a good one, an actual career.

C is here with me, he arrived on Jan 5.

We've slacked off, I've been busy and we're just now realizing that C shoulda applied for his SSN a month ago. I left him sitting in the SSA office almost 2 hours ago and he's still in line. :(

Our wedding is in 10 days out in Vegas. We cant wait, its almost all his family from N. Ireland that are coming to join us for it. Only person from my side is my mother. Gotta (L) my side of the family

Anyway, Pax caught me lurking again and sent me a PM, so here we are! :)

Now to go back and read thru 15 pages of london graduates to get caught up.. haha!

Hope all is going well for everyone else too!

Uhhhh....what exactly is this vaccine worksheet and supplement that you speak of? I found some thing called Appendix A: Supplemental form to I-693. Is that all we need? Andrew never received copies of anything from his medical anything other than whatever was in that mysterious brown envelope that he handed in. So do we have to go find a civil surgeon? Who in the world are they? -Weebeansy
