We arrived in Orlando yesterday. POE was easy as pie. We had to be split up into two different lines but I could watch through the glass in CUstoms while they went through his paperwork. I could actually see what he was doing with the paperwork where as my fiance was freaking cuz he couldn't see the paperwork. Anyway, everything went great except for the turbulence half way through the flight.

Glad to hear it went smoothly in Orlando! :)

We finally booked Chas' flight for his visit here in April. I'm totally psyched! :)(L)

You can actually go through the same line. US Citizens are allowed through the Visitors line. My fiance waited with me in the visitors line. It was actually a lot, lot shorter than the citizens line.

Yes, he's flying into Newark. It's a bit more convenient in terms of luggage; he'll have a lot, and it's far less complicated for me to drive to Newark than it is for me to drive to Kennedy. When he was here last, he flew into Kennedy, but just had one big bag...that's not so bad to take on the train and then the bus.

Fun fact: Usually when I track the packages that I send to Ewen, USPS shows that they ship out of Kennedy to the UK.

I wish we lived closer! :(

Wellllll, we have taken our first baby steps today! LOL

We went to get our marriage license today and I had a major break down! The lady said he must have his social security card for us to get our marriage license..Arkansas county refused to let us buy our marriage license! ARGH!!

Paul hasn't even been in the states a full week yet, so we know what that means...he is not in "the system" yet.

Ne ways, I took off work this afternoon and made the long drive to the social security off and of course ...he isn't in the system yet and she said it could take 4 to 6 weeks before we see his card in the mail!!

Well I done some calling around cuz I was umm P I S S E D about our wedding only 32 days away and us not being able to buy our marriage license.... I done my homework and looked up requirements for our state to purchase the marriage license and it said only PASSPORT required!!.....Ne ways I called a friend I know in a different county that does the marriage license's and she called the head ppl in control of saying what is required etc...and they told her we COULD get our marriage license as long as he has his passport (which obviously we had) so we made a mad dash from the Social Security office to the court house in Prairie county!! We now have our marriage license in hand!!! So 4 hours of driving like a mad woman was all worth it in the end! PHEW

I swear I am not bridezilla like yet! LOL

Well done Stace! :P

Well today I received my SSN! It took 4 weeks exactly. So, we went and got our joint bank account opened and I applied for my check book and card - I'm starting to feel a bit more "real"!

Thought we'd get my driving license application done too, but they won't let me do it! It seems, that along with masses of other evidence/papers, I need a green card to apply. :( Has anyone else applied for a driving license in Virginia yet? Did the same thing happen....Grrr....it is so frustrating after driving for 20 years in many countries all over the world! :hehe:
