Thank you to all for your good wishes...they got me there safely and Adam is now in my living room safe and sound as well, after being on a plane for 24 hours! :luv:

It took an hour to dig my car out, I fell in the snow and couldn't get out, I floundered like a beached whale and couldn't get up! It was actually really funny. What I didn't know and what I found out once I got to newark was that when I fell I lost the alarm remote to my car!! Anyway I lived and I have a spare and after four hours at the airport Adam came out! POE was a breeze he said!

I hope everyone is keeping warm in this horrible snowy weather!!!

Yay for Estella and Adam! :)

9 weeks from today, Ewen and I will be celebrating--with much less of a chance of snow to interrupt us. ;)

Well I just found this thread up in the pinned area!!! I wondered where it had gone.

Congrats Estella, send us some snow down here in Oklahoma please - we are still having wildfires due to the drought.

Estella- So glad Adam made it!! I was diverted to Newfoundland- would have much preferred Montreal! I told my husband last night I wish he had flown with me- I am sure going through the POE would have been pretty easy yesterday- with everyone's mind on the snow and planes- probably little chance of being turned back!! (not that he would be of course!!) Anyway, congrats and glad he made it safe.

My husband arrives on February 25- I would have preferred he flew back with me, but he needed to tie up some loose ends, so will have to wait 13 days til he is here for good.

Estella.....what a story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad he finally made it there safe and sound.

Gosh, it's so great to finally be hearing stories of everyone finally being reunited with their fiances!!! We've all come so far together. I was talking to my housemate last night....her boyfriend is actually flying in to CT to visit her from CA (she was sensible and fell for an American) so she was stressing about the snow as well...but anyhow, we were thinking we should sit down and watch, "Love Actually," it's such a perfect movie for such airport reunions!!

Only 3 weeks until Andrew arrives...it's all settled now...he arrives on March 5th and we're getting married in my front yard on March 7th (possibly while standing in a pile of snow but ah well) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weebeansy I think standing on a pile of snow will be great. It will be like the marriage of two snowpeople like in the Frosty the Snowman movies!!!

But I think a warm front is coming through so chances are it might all melt by then and skies will be sunny! :star:

Love Actually is an amazing movie I agree!!!! (F)

I love Love Actually as well........it's the one movie my husband and I put on over and over when we are bored or when we want background noise. That, and Apollo 13. Not sure why.

Hello all....Quick question

I'm trying to register Andrew for a few courses that he needs to take this summer in order to be able to teach here come September...

With the K1 visa is Andrew considered an alien temporary? Or a conditional alien permanent? Or are you only a conditional alien permanent once you've been married and have the AOS approved? It's all so technical and BLAH! Either way, I like how they call him an alien as though those Brits are some crazy beings from out of this world!

By the way, Happy Valentine's everyone!!!! -Weebeansy

We arrived in Orlando yesterday. POE was easy as pie. We had to be split up into two different lines but I could watch through the glass in CUstoms while they went through his paperwork. I could actually see what he was doing with the paperwork where as my fiance was freaking cuz he couldn't see the paperwork. Anyway, everything went great except for the turbulence half way through the flight.

Weebeansy...he's a K-1 visa holder till marriage.

A 'applicant to adjust status' after you have filed the AOS but before approval.

A 'conditional permanent resident' after AOS is granted.

Thanks rebeccajo....Gosh, I really love the great amount of support you get on this board....it's not often in life that you can ask a question and get a solid, straight-forward answer...I really appreciate it!!!!!! -Weebeansy
