Hey yall. I'm the USC wife.....and I'm preparing this AOS/IV packet. I was divorced. Do i have to send my divorce decrees.....or does that only apply to beneficiary? Also.....do i send my birth cert as well as his(beneficiary)....or just his?

Posted

Case Complete

Followed NVC Operator instructions which differ from those on this forum:

1.After AOS showed PAID, sent both AOS and IV packets together using the NVC supplied Document Cover Sheet

2. 4 days later received notice that documents were received on a certain date and to wait 60 days for review.

3. A few days after that IV Fee was open to pay

4. Received no "archaic" "false checklists" since we followed NVC instructions and they had both packages

5. No documents were "lost" because we sent both packages together

6. Had no checklists due to the help of VJ

My advice: Read everything here and follow the advice of the NVC.

Awesome! Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Did you send the document cover sheet with the check list on it where you can X if you have the documents that they send with AOS invoice, or the one in the receipt center with just the name and barcode? Both have a barcode, so I'm a bit confused...

We used the Document Cover Sheet for both packages. We marked the "X" in the appropriate column on the sheet.

Gotcha. Just was kinda confusing cause the one where you mark "X" on lists that came with AOS invoice says Document Cover Sheet on it and the one in the receipt section after paying AOS without the "X" list is also called Document Cover Sheet.

Hi all. I am confused to no end with the stupid fees and waiting for the DS-260. To be fair, part of it is our mistake :(

Our AoS fee showed up all OK, was paid and credited from the bank account on 11/12. I filled out the DS-261 way before that, but the confirmation email went to my husband's address, and we didn't even know there would be a confirmation email... he didn't check it for two weeks :ranting: so there was a delay confirming the choice of agent. But we finally did that about 10 days ago. The IV fee is still not showing up, and I also could've screwed that up logging in to the DS-261 a couple times after due to confusion, because the start-up site after logging in still says "no agent selected" but right next to it, it says "completed". WTH?!?!?! What is it supposed to say, should it say the name of the agent in that spot???

Also, are you guys sending a coversheet for each packet individually, or just one coversheet for both? It seems to me that one should suffice, since it covers both AoS and IV supporting documentation.

Ours says the same thing about 'no agent or attorney selected' but also 'completed.' Extremely confusing.

We submitted our DS-261 on 11/12 but we haven't been given the option of paying any fees yet. Presumably we're still being invoiced but it's taking a little while.

Just to make sure: you login here:

https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

to pay your fees, right?

my IV fee and DS260 has not opened either. They reviewed my DS261 a week ago and they're still saying to wait more. The rep said, it takes 3-4 days, and i reminded him that it's been 7. He said wait till Monday. Geez this is so frustrating especially when everyone else seems to receive it within a few days after the first payment. argggghhh

@LeavingPrague and @Loading (love that nickname btw :)), thanks for your answers! At least the agent thing should be OK. As of yet, no IV fee showing up. Frustrating!

@LeavingPrague, that is the link I'm using. I've also tried logging in to the DS-260 website, but the first thing it says is that the fees aren't paid and to "pay now", but that just takes you to the original CEAC site where the IV fee is not invoiced yet.

Ds-260 can only be completed after IV fee is showed paid.there is a button which will appear automatically in IV row after showing IV fee is paid...u should better to call NVC abt dis IV fee.
