Hi Loading...

I just saw your post. I also read somewhere on NVC that it only takes about 15 days after AOS is paid to open IV. But when I look at the timelines here on VJ it looks like it takes 30 days.

Do you have an attorney assigned as your agent? Could that be why it was a shorter time frame for you?

My cased was received 10/7, I got DS261 and AOS Invoice on 10/24, I completed it and paid on 10/25. I'm still waiting for the IV fee to open (it's been 21 days).

Please advise and thank you so much!

An important information i think i should tell u.....i have received NVC # on 27th october...i didn't pay AOS fee and not filled out DS-261 instantly....i paid fee and filled DS-261 at 6th November...At 8th November fees was showing Paid only after 2 days....and at 11th November IV fee was available to pay i paid it on the same date.....What i want to tell, it took me 14 days to open up my IV fees since my NVC # is assigned, no matter we have filled DS-261 instantly or not....I think May be there is no relation between filling Form DS-261 and then opening up IV fee.....NVC usually taking 14 days to open up IV fees.....thanx

Loading.... I stayed with my husband for while after we got married, then I came back to the states and submitted the I-130. Thank God that part is done. My husband is still in Pakistan, no visa yet. God willing he will be here soon after we finish the rest of the visa Journey.

Joni - I just talked to a rep who said she could review my DS261 and approve it. I really couldn't believe it. Then she said, 'ok all done, you should receive your IV invoice within a day or two'. She mentioned that the normal wait time right now is 40 days. yikes.

I also asked if I have to wait to submit the IV fee or DS260 before I can send my package and she said 'honey, you can send that at any time, don't wait' , i thanked her many times and told her God willing i'll be sending the package soon. yay!

I emailed because we are living oversea...but with no result. In the end I called them yesterday, twice:) First time I was waiting 17min (1pm EST) and the second one about 30 min. (4 pm EST). It seems I had luck in calling...

thanks for the info Frips. I actually got in yesterday, and they pretty much told me it going to take about 35 days. I should've asked if they were going to email me but I forgot (waited on the phone for about 45 minutes before I got to talk to someone for less than 5 minutes).

Hello everyone,

I am a bit confused and if i can get some clarification that would be greatly appreciated!

I have paid the AOS fee and the Visa fee and the status showed paid as of 11/5.

Am i supposed to be waiting for some type of email, or can i just go ahead and have my wife see if she can log into the ds-260 application? I should also start sending the aos packet and the IV packet as well correct?

I called in to NVC and they said i need to wait 60 days but he couldnt tell me for what?!

Thanks

Hello please go ahead and send your packages in. The 60day wait if for after your packages have been sent in. The person on the phone did not make themselves clear enough.

Once you pay AOS you can send you packages (both AOS and IV packages) in with the barcodes coversheet that you normally get in the welcome email but I beleoce you also get it when you pay the AOS fee. Some ppl are waiting to pay IV fee to and sending the IV cover letter aswell. In your case you ha e already done both so you can print both cover letters attached then to the relevant supporting documents and send them.

Here is the link to the NVC page which has the new process.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/contact.html

... 60 days of definitely the waiting time AFTER you send packages in so don't wait to send them in now. Your wife also does not have to fill out he DS260 before you send the packages in. She can do it before or after makes no difference.

Thank you

So i will ask my wife if she will have time to call the NVC for the IV and 260. And then she can ask as well the scan date of our forms.

I called NVC yesterday and (after waiting for 30 min twice and being hung up on twice and then waiting for another 28 min) I talked to a nice lady and she reviewed my DS-261 on the phone with me, so she said now I should get my IV fee soon, for those of you still waiting for the IV fee like me.

Case Complete

Followed NVC Operator instructions which differ from those on this forum:

1.After AOS showed PAID, sent both AOS and IV packets together using the NVC supplied Document Cover Sheet

2. 4 days later received notice that documents were received on a certain date and to wait 60 days for review.

3. A few days after that IV Fee was open to pay

4. Received no "archaic" "false checklists" since we followed NVC instructions and they had both packages

5. No documents were "lost" because we sent both packages together

6. Had no checklists due to the help of VJ

My advice: Read everything here and follow the advice of the NVC.
