It's been accurate as far as I can tell. Granted if something was passed since their last update it may not have it. You could always call or visit your city clerk for the most up to date reference.

She is Syrian.

Can someone please help me find the official Louisiana State laws for marriage? I keep googling Louisiana marriage laws and i get websites that are not official some of which say 17 is the legal age, others say parents MUST APPEAR to give consent? is a contest form not enough?

Here you go:

"Marriage under the age of eighteen (18) is prohibited by law, except as follows: Applicants over the age of sixteen (16) but less than eighteen (18) must have the signed consent of both parents, or an order from a Judge of Juvenile Court. Females under sixteen (16) will be issued a license ONLY upon the written order of the Juvenile Court Judge..."

Official Source: http://new.dhh.louisiana.gov/assets/oph/Center-RS/vitalrec/REQUIREMENTSFOROBTAININGAMARRIAGELICENSE.pdf

You must be 18 years of age or have parental consent. That said, you both must be 18 or older and free to marry before you submit your 129F visa, or you are over 18 and she needs written parental consent from both her parents, or you are both under 18 and both need written consent from both your parents.

I'd wait till she's 18 and save yourself the hassle and possible RFE.

Good point, ill check. But I'm certain she will be 18 by the time she gets the visa. I just want to start the process now, we are tired of waiting !!

Some countries go beyond 18. Philippines is 21. So please check.

My fiancé is now 17, can i start the paper work now and based on what I've seen the process might take a year. So by the time she comes here she will be 18 and of legal age to marry? or do i have to wait fro her to turn 18 first?

how r u bro?

you can get married in Las Vegas http://www.lasvegast...m/marriage1.htm check this info

your fiancee will need to bring original notarized letter form from her father or mother giving consent her to marry you. that form is available http://www.clarkcoun...or_To_Marry.pdf her original passport, notorized and signed form her parent. call this county clark # 702-671-0600 speak to marriage bureau for requirments.

US Consulate doesn't have problem giving visa to any one under 18 with parent consent if your country allows she is good to go.

her parents do not have to be in Las Vegas that's the only place which accept consent letter in USA.

Best of Luck!
