Ds 160 vs Ds 156

Apparently the DS 160 is replacing everything...that's what i applied for but now I read that K fiance visas should file DS 156. Im about to cry...I applied the 21st (of october..couple days ago) for a 160...all I was doing was researching on how to pay the fee ( WHICH I STILL HAVENT FOUND) and not the approval fee you find on the uscis site... Now I might have applied for the wrong one with my consulate?!?!

Hasn't you consulate informed you on which forms are needed?

I had my interview in september and I needed both DS160 and DS156(+DS156K & DS230 part1)

The only fees I paid were for the interview. I know proces have changed now but I paid $240 online. These are the visa fees if I remember right.

All the forms for the K1 visa are free (if I don't mistake)

You only pay when you send your I-129F, for your medical exam & your visa fees.

For the AOS there you pay for/with forms

In abu dhabi USEM they need the ds156k..

I just had my interview last Wednesday. .

you simply download the form..fill it up and bring along your ds160 and the rest of the requirements.just bring it, I guess they need it as well.?

Which payment do you actually asking for? The visa? If the visa fee try to look on your consulate specific on how to pay the visa...but the ds160 fill it online and ds156k just simply download the form and fill it up...

On the 21st I filled out the DS-160....thats what im trying to pay. Someone said that unless I pay it they will never schedule my appointment. However I read elsewhere that you can pay it AT the embassy.

I didn't understand what you mean by paying something...when I fill my ds160 I didn't pay anything..the ds156k is also needed during interview...the only payment I made is the visa fee on the day of my interview...try to review your consulate so you can ask someone who's alredy done with their interview.goodluck

I'm a bit confused... Haven't you received a checklist from the US consulate you will go to for your K1 visa interview?

On that checklist there should be all you need.

In Belgium after sending back the checklist you get a letter telling to pay online and put the interview date they wrote in it & no other. At the interview I had to have the recipe from that page.

If that's what you're looking for it's https://usvisa-info.com but best is to wait for the consulate to confirm it's on there you have to go & they have to explain you on which page to go. For my K1 visa I went through 'immigration visa' eventho it's a non-immigrant it leads to immigration.
