In some states you can file your signed marriace license and receive the certified marriage certificate on the spot. That's what we did in Pennsylvania.

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

when does the I-94 expire? Visa expiration date is meaningless once yer in the USA.

Wait - let me click on yer timeline - but

regardless, must to marry within 90 days of arrival - that's the only reg - can file for AOS anytime after you have marriage certificate in hand - there is no rule about it.

Grab a SSN yet? you should, if not have one, yet. Yer POE date was 2014-09-01, so I suggest you hurry up and get SSN in VISA name at the SSA offfice, nowish.

Your K1 visa was a one-way, one-time visa that was voided the moment you entered the US at your POE. There is no formal requirement as to when to file the AOS paperwork. The general forum recommendation is to start the AOS process as soon as possible after marriage.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

The guide here says I need to put inside a copy of my unexpired i94. How is this possible if my i94 is expired by November 29? The wedding will be on November 8 but the bureau needs 2-3 weeks to send the license back to u by mail.

This has been discussed many times. You can do a search for it here on VJ.

There is no time limit/deadline in which to file for AOS. As long as you married within 90 days then you are eligible to file based on your approved I-129F petition and fulling the requirements of the K-1 visa. However, you will be out of status and begin to accrue unlawful presence between your I-94 expiring and filing for AOS. Once you file for AOS, you then enter a period of authorized stay while waiting for your green card approval.
