Woohoo! My interview letter arrived today, dated April 15.

My interview will be on May 19 at the Washington DC field office.

Hey All,

Had my interview today.

I passed the US history test and the reading and writing test.

The interviewer then went over all of my paper work with me and everything was fine and he had all the required evidence.

BUT................

I was not approved.........

I was given a letter with a decision could not be made at this time. The interview officer then explained that there was some information on a computer system in san diego and as I was being interviewed at another San Diego office he could not get to that information at this moment and could not make a decision.

He said he would review the information later on the other computer system and said if everything checked out I would be ok.

So I guess I should just wait right ? It says on the letter if I don't hear anything in 120 days I can request a hearing with an immigration officer. I can't think of anything that would not pass my approval.

Should I just wait the full 120 days and see if I get a letter for the oath ceremony ?

In a way its a bit disappointing because I was not approved, but then I don't know what to do now, as I did not have to gather any evidence.

Any advice anyone ?

Wait. They haven't asked you to do anything, so you can't do anything. They have 120 days to respond, so there's nothing you can do to force a decision before then.

Odds are you'll get your approval notice in a few days or a few weeks. If you don't hear anything in a month, give them a call; sometimes that just reminds someone to look at your case if it's been set aside. Similarly, you can set up an Infopass appointment and visit them, but you may not get much of a response beyond being told to wait. Once the 120 days are up, you'll have more options, but in most of these cases, it doesn't get to that. Take the interviewer at his word that he just needs to clear something up. If it's a problem, you might get an RFE telling you to send in a particular piece of supporting documentation. If there's no problem, you can expect your application to be approved shortly.

No need to worry at this point, just give them some time.

its has to be frustrating to wait all this time, Pay a premium fee, provide all the evidence and then called for an interview and be told we have not made a decision yet. we don't have the ability to access another computer to verify information. Why the interview?

I have been referred here by my friend to seek advise. My citizenship interview was scheduled on 28th April (After 4 days) in Holtsville NY and today i received a letter from USCIS stating that it has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. They will let me know my new date.

The status on the website is still the same as "On March 19, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

It does not mention any change or cancellation and i am confused on what to do next...

Any suggestions........................... PLEASE !!

Had my interview today. I received the "a decision cannot be made at this time" letter... because they wanted some of our relationship evidence to be photocopied, not original.

I provided a huge pile of evidence, some photocopied, some not. I've combed the yellow letter several times and there is no mention of compulsory photocopies. It just says "bring the following documents." Obviously I missed something somewhere, but I can't help but feel that this is unfair.

I would advise everyone to photocopy everything, just in case you are delayed in the same way. My spouse is due to start a course abroad in Sept and now we might have to leave without getting citizenship. They apparently have 120 days to respond before I can do anything.

I'm trying not to feel too angry at the thousands I've spent on this process, and the months I spent preparing for this day, when they couldn't (or wouldn't) photocopy two items.

Nov 19 2014 - NOA

Dec 9 2014 - Yellow letter

Dec 15 2014 - Biometrics

Jan 13 2015 - In line for an interview

Mar 23 2015 - Interview letter
