i don't believe this!!!!! my interview got rescheduled AGAIN because of the weather!!!!! :ranting::ranting::ranting: i had an interview on january 27th, got a call that because of weather it's being rescheduled to march 5th(tomorrow). just got a call saying that it's rescheduled to next week friday march 13th!!!!!! this is ridiculous!!!! UGH!i honestly thought i would be all done with this january 27th. :cry::cry::cry:

Look on the Bright side - at least you have a date for your interview, Think about us here in San Francisco. Can you Imagine if we had Weather issues here.

Hello everyone

Does the Phoenix field office does oath ceremony the same day as the interview? Has anyone done this at this field office?

I have 1-130 petition filed for my wife and I really need to be citizen as soon as possible to make my petition priority date to be current.

Will the USCIS officer be convinced if ask for the same day oath ceremony?

You fast response is greatly appreciated.

Hi Abenet,

The Phoenix Field Office conducts both Judicial Ceremonies on a weekly basis and Administrative Ceremonies 1-2 times per month. This office conducts same-day naturalization ceremonies for military cases.

I am not sure what you are going to say to convince them to do same day but chances are they will not. However, it won't hurt for you to ask. All they can say is No or yes. Nothing bad can come from that.

It depends on how far you live from your field office and your main usps dispatching branch. I was notified online on February 10th, the notice was created on February 11th and I received it on February 14th. I live about 1 hour away from my field office

I know what it feels like when you have been waiting for awhile and finally get that e-mail notification. Anyway you are almost there. you should be able to get the letter next week (3-4 business days) Looking at time lines interviews are schedules about 4 weeks after the notice has been created

eventually received an email: On March 5, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC**********. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

hope to receive the letter next week. And really need to study now.

Yes today happens to be the last day in my immigration process....Thanks a lot to Vij family....You guys was my own lawyer and truthfully,Vj is the best immigration lawyers money can buy....

The Oath ceremony went just fine..I can now proudly say i"m a full naturalized Citizen of United States of America...God bless America for giving me a home sweet home.....

The History has been made

Wooohooo! Had my interview yesterday ... my husband and I arrived 45 minutes before the interview and went through the security at the Chicago offices. Security is kinda stressful, because they don't really tell you what they want from you, instead they yell instructions if you do something they DON'T want. In any case, then went up to the third floor and checked in. The lady handed me a buzzer with a number on it stating that when called to report to door no.1 ... however, the buzzer doesn't buzz - listen closely for when the officers come out and call your number, otherwise you might not hear it. We settled in and my husband asked me a few more civics questions - and then said to me - you know this ... relax ..My appointment was at 11:15am and the officer called me into the office at 11:20am. I almost didn't hear her and jumped up, threw my phone at my husband - he caught it :) - as I ran to the door.

In the office she told me to stay standing as she had me promise to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Then I could sit down and she asked for my passport, greencard and ID. She made a few notes and asked me if I was ready for my civics test. I think she asked me the following questions - it was kind of a blur:

What do you promise to do when you take the oath?

Who was the first president of the U.S?

Who is the governor of your state?

What are two national holidays

What movement fought for racial equality?

For the life of me I can't remember the last one.

She told me to stay put for the rest of the question and basically went through my N-400 application. She really knew her stuff and pretty much just observed me as she recited the questions and then made notes that I answered the questions the same way that I had them written down on the application. I commented that, that she was very impressive and asked how many interviews they do a day - she said 10 per day.

She made a couple more notes and filled out the form that I was approved. She did not ask for any additional documentation, although I told her that I had all the originals. I looked at the thick binder in front of her and said "that's me?" and she said "that's you!" It is impressive how much data they have on you. She told me to expect the oath letter in the next 30 days or so.

She then asked me if I had any questions - and I asked about when and where and I will have to apply for my passport - she told me that going to the post office is the best bet. I can't wait to get my U.S. passport and really experience the freedom of being a citizen!!!

The end is in sight ....
