hello November filers, just passing my worries, i watch the news this morning and says DHS will running out of budget by the end of February. if this happen does our Applications will be put on hold?

USCIS is self funded using application fees.

USCIS did not stop working during the last shutdown.

I just had my interview in Columbus, OH this afternoon. My husband came with me (I'm applying under the 3-year-rule, and he works nearby, so he came along just in case) and we arrived 30 minutes early. I got called about 25 minutes after my interview time.

The officer apologized for running behind. I stood while taking my oath to tell the truth, then he asked me to sit down and for my green card and driver's license (or state ID, but I have a license). Those were the only documents he asked to see, even though I brought a ton of evidence (everything they asked for in their letters--passports, tax transcripts, marriage certificate, plus some extra stuff pertaining to our particular situation, since, for example, I commute for work to another city for part of the week--and it used to be weeks at a time--and thus spend a lot of time away from home).

He asked if I still wanted to change my name (I'm shortening my last name to the version I use most often) and had me sign some papers to that effect, as well as write the new name on the passport pictures I'd sent with the application.

Then he went over certain aspects my application really quickly--are you married? is this your first marriage? have you taken 6 trips outside the U.S. in the past 5 years?--without asking to see any verification of those answers. He was friendly throughout and joked about having issues with his software. He then asked some of the Yes/No questions (the "are you or have you ever been a terrorist?" ones--I got the terrorist one but not the prostitution one, for example; he also joked a bit about my professional memberships), asked me all the ones about supporting the constitution and agreeing with the oath. He then signed my application and had me sign it as well.

My English test was reading "Who can vote?" and writing "Citizens can vote." My civics question were:

What is the highest court in the United States?
Who makes federal laws?
How many amendments does the Constitution have?
What is the name of the Vice President?
What group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?
Why did the colonists fight the British?

He gave me the sheet saying I passed and I was recommended for approval. He said that usually ceremonies are scheduled 3-4 weeks out, but that I might get lucky and get scheduled earlier, since he'd heard that there might be some openings later in the month. I told him that'd been pretty painless and that I'd brought a ton of documents he hadn't asked to see. He said that he had all he needed in his file already and that he knew it was a legitimate case.

I'm glad it was so easy and I'm hoping for an oath ceremony as soon as possible.

Exactly the same question I got On my interview Gildayjason.....Probably the easiest thing ever on this earth...He just gave me a piece of paper saying Congratulation and that your application has been recommended for approval...He didn't ask for any other document..Not even a single paper.....Just as easy as it could ever be..Waiting for the Oath letter...He said with in a week or two...I will be getting the letter..

I'm Guessing from looking at previous threads that most people filing in the LA , San Diego & Santa Ana offices should probably expect a date about your interview in MAY 2015. For an interview date of June 2015.

Hey Guys. I received my interview letter today. my status changed on USCIS website to Interview scheduled on February 10th and today ( 14th) got the actual mail..( so 4 days from the day the status changed on line to me receiving the actual letter ). My Interview will be on March 19th in San Bernardino. I guess I start reviewing my civic questions

We scheduled your Oath Ceremony for Receipt number NBC*XXXXXC....We sent a notice with a date, time and location of your Oath Ceremony to the address you gave us. I will update you guys with the actual date as soon as I get the letter....Is almost over...
