Long Story Short: I am a US Citizen

I'd like to thank everyone participating in the forum, this is definitely helpful. Here is my experience.

Interview Letter

Asked me to bring:

• Interview Letter
• Green Card
• Any evidence of Selective Service Registration - I became a green card holder at 27, so this did not apply to me
• Passport
• Marriage Certificate
• Spouse's Naturalization or Birth Certificate - I had none, my wife was not born in US, she came here when she was 6 months old, became a citizen when her mom became a citizen. I think they need this as a proof that the spouse is a US citizen for atleast 3 years. So i just brought her old passport with me. Wasn't asked for it though.

Interview Day

• Officer put me under oath
• Officer asked to see GC, Passport & Driving License
• Speaking test was first - asked me to read out - Who is the first president?
• Writing test - asked me to write - The first president was George Washington.
• Civics Test - 6 questions
  • The House of Representatives has how many voting members?
  • We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
  • Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now?
  • Who is the “Father of Our Country”?
  • Name one war fought by the United States in the 1900s
  • In what month do we vote for President?
• Reviewed the application
• Reviewed Yes/No Questions
• Asked if i'd like to attend the Naturalization today - Hell Yea, lol
• It took around 15 minutes for the interview

Naturalization Ceremony

• Only the applicants are invited into the room first
• Need to bring the acceptance letter that the officer will give you after the interview and the green card
• Officers will collect your Green Card and have you seated
• Review and sign the Naturalization Certificate
• Family members are welcome at this time into the hall
• Take the Oath and Pledge allegiance to the Flag
• Couple of videos are played
• That's it
• The ceremony took around 1 hour.

Hey All,

I received notification that I was scheduled for an interview on 1/27/15 and that a letter has been mailed out with the date and instructions. However, today is 2/8/2015 and still no letter. How long should I wait before contacting USCIS? Is anybody else in the same boat? I am concerned because I do not want to miss the interview ... it seems that all the interviews are about 1 months after receiving notification of scheduling.

For NOA you need the date you received it in the mail!

i mailed it on 11/5 and paid by money order. GC date November, 2011

hello November filers, just passing my worries, i watch the news this morning and says DHS will running out of budget by the end of February. if this happen does our Applications will be put on hold?
