We have been Skyping for months now and I finally booked my flight to Manila and will see her on November 22nd. We already plan for her to come here as soon as possible, so I was wondering if I should start the process now since it will take 5 or 6 months??

Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks,

Derek

In the 129f petition you will describe the exact dates and give evidences to the effect of when you met in person. Since that wouldn't have happened yet, your petition will be denied since you hadn't met yet.

No, you must wait. Have her sign the G325A and Letter of Intent when you meet, bring that back with you, collect the meeting evidences and then you file.

She'll come here when she's given the visa. Could be 5-6 months, could be less and could be more.

You could join the military and get assigned to the front lines and qualify for an expedite...that would work....she'd be here and you'd be on the front lines.

so I was wondering if I should start the process now since it will take 5 or 6 months??

Anyone have experience with this?

One of the requirements for the I-129F petition is to meet in person. You have to have already met in person at the time you file, you cannot file first and meet later.

Save your boarding passes, in fact save whatever you can in relation to having met. Good luck!

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Go to the K-1 form, and print off what is exactly needed.

You cannot file until you meet face to face, spend time together, with proof, boarding passes, hotel receipts, engagement ring receipt, many pictures of family and friend together.,.,.,.,.,YOU have a lot of work to do!

Print the K-1 list, and go buy it, EXACTLY!

NO you can not start the petition process before meeting your fiancee in person. The BIG requirement with the I-129F Fiancee petition is having MET IN PERSON WITHIN THE PAST 2 YEARS.

You can have your fiancee complete the G-325A and the Letter of Intent to Marry while you are there visiting, that will save time and further delays.

For details on completing the petition process with USCIS follow the GUIDE here on VJ, click the link in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Unfortunately you have to meet first before filing. You better go meet her now then file the petition right away because CSC is processing I-129Fs like they're possessed or something..lol..people that filed this month are getting approved in two weeks. I myself got my NOA1 Oct 6 and got approved Oct 23.

Might be an idea to wait and see?

That's just a good idea anyway. Sometimes this wonderful chemistry can be had through text & then you meet the person & there's 0 physical chemistry. Happened to me once, before I met my Fiancee. Luckily that was a woman who lived in my city.

OP when you travel to PH:

  1. Keep your boarding passes.
  2. Make sure your passport is stamped.
  3. Take pictures (date stamped) of your time together and you meeting her family.
  4. Take pictures of you two together in front of several Manila specific landmarks.
  5. Take pictures of you two at any restaurants that you eat at. Keep the receipts at the restaurants.
  6. Keep any hotel receipts/vacation leases, make sure both of your names is on the agreement, if you stay at one.

That will be an excellent set of evidence of your meeting and time together.
