How long does it take to get Case Number?

question. back in August I received a ticket because I did not renew my registration on time. It was my first ticket in my life and the case was thrown out. Is this a bad thing as far as the NVC and Embassy goes? I have never been in trouble with the law so this scares me especially with this whole paper work stuff.

My goodness. Please don't tell me they wanted us to wait 35 business day. The operators keep telling me the same thing over and over again. As far as I know, NVC doesn't have to do anything else besides creating a case number for it for K1 visa. you're almost there just hang tight. :dancing:

Will do :clock:

The way it seemed when I spoke with her is that I needed to wait 35 days. She told me to call at the end of the week or the first of next week and it should be there. Was almost like it may show that they've received it but won't do anything until the 35 days or say they've received it until the 35 days. I'm somewhat lost too, because the K-1 is valid for four months after the approval date from the USCIS, which is my understanding, which for us would be mid January. Not sure if this means that them showing that they receive it then the embassy getting it plus the interview will happen within this time frame. I almost feel like there will need to be an extension. So I will be calling 30th October. If nothing, then the 31st. If nothing still, I will be calling again on Monday. I'm really trying so hard to hang on. Is a bit more trying now. The process really tests the patience sometimes.

i wouldn't be worried over a traffic ticket, maybe it wasn't even a traffic ticket (which doesn't show up on your record). Take it easy. It has nothing to do with your due diligent and honesty.

i definitely think that the NVC is trying to control the immigration wave at this point.

thanks alexisle88! hopefully USCIS forwards our case to NVC soon. I am expecting NVC to put it in the system by end of November though then everything being forwarded to embassy by early December. I am hoping he gets interviewed late January early February. We will be on track with our plans if so.

I keep reading people calling calling calling everyday asking about their cases and I feel there will be repercussions ... these people can be quite vindictive because they can so we all have to try our best and chill. I am going to give them three weeks. If I have not heard anything then I will reach out to them

We've been waiting since September 18.... Emailed a copy of our approval to nvc and have uscis looking into it too. This whole process is ridiculous. Illegal Mexicans can just walk over here and be given work visas and we have to be tortured and punished with pathetic system.

Hi there,

The petition can start gathering the following to send to the beneficiary

1/ copy of I-129f package

2/ ORIGINAL Intend to marry letter (dated closer to the interview date)

3/ Form I-134 with support documents (bank statements, paystubs, 2013 tax transcript)

4/ Birth Certificate.

Hope it helps.

That is frustrating. I wish we don't have to go through this manual process again. I mean, it's approaching 2015 and we're still calling people to get the case #.

I called and spoke to USCIS (a tier 2 rep.) yesterday and she advised me that they send all of our documents in a big group. They do this every 30 - 60 days depending on the quantity of approved applicants. We have been waiting for 47 days. What I thought was supposed to be a very quick transition has turned out to be another stressful event of this whole process. We were really hoping and praying that she would be here for Christmas and now the chances of that are slim. It infuriates me to know that our documents could possibly be just sitting somewhere at the USCIS being neglected. I know these people have a job to do, but it also feels like they really care less about us as human beings and that we are on edge everyday waiting to finally be with our loved ones. When I call (USCIS or NVC) I always get a different answer. I've heard 35 days, 60 days, 90 days and 6 months!!!. I really think that they look at this as a game and love playing with our emotions.

The other sad thing is, that I tried to expedite this approval in the past because of everything going on in Ukraine, Now winter has come and she just recently had the heat turned on in her building. Not only did they deny my request but it feels like they are intentionally prolonging this out of spite. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being too emotional about this but I feel like the US does everything so backwards and there's nothing that you or I can do to change it.
