Once the beneficiary arrives to the US on a CR-1 visa, what health care coverage can they obtain, that won't need to be repaid?

October 10th: Consular Section sent checklist and notification scheduling my spouse's visa interview for November 13th.

I beleive that would be on yours if you have any health care.. remember that you will submit an affidavit of support stating that they are your dependent.

Unless I want to repay the government, the only health coverage the beneficiary can get is private medical insurance that we buy?

US Citizens and legal immigrants are required to get health insurance or pay a penalty

The health law set up online health insurance marketplaces, also known as exchanges, to help you shop for plans.

repaid? oh no - all stuff carries a monthly insurance payment plus a copay plus a ceiling for out of pocket expenses.

Usually, a CR-1 visa holder qualifies automatically, for the Obamacare stuff - so when you're studying the website stuff that MerryTooth posted, save some time, call in and speak with a human, soon after hitting dirt.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
