I wonder why? Could that be because it's something that is 'generally' true. It is an extremely rare occurrence for anyone to pick a car for the purpose of murder, for lots of extremely obvious reasons. However, no one has tried to suggest it CANT be done, or that it hasn't been done, just in general, people intent on murder have other preferences, guns and bombs being the weapons of choice. The only fallacy to your argument is, that if one Catholic shoots another because of texting it's not about their religion. The many 1000's that have died at the hands of Islamic militiants have died becuse of a religious belief and they are comtting the violance n the name of that belief.

Why are you so quick to buy terrorist propaganda? So the most feared terrorists of the moment (at least in the US news narrative at least) call themselves muslims. So what? That is a bit out there as a belief when nothing in the writings or teachings of the muslim religion is any more violent or endorsing of violent struggle than any other religion. Why so quick to blame the religion rather than the terrorists themselves and hold them alone to account for their own actions?

I think you're reading something that isn't there, personally. The Canadians who frequent this part of the forum aren't blind to the issues Canada has as a country. But it pales in comparison to the United States, where most of us that are posting here live.

The thing that gets me the most after a day like yesterday where violence erupts in a city that's not used to violence... is the way the two different countries chose to report it.

Canada's major news networks were calm, waiting for any facts to roll in before reporting them, simply giving the details they knew as they knew them.

America's major news networks were claiming the city was "TERRIFIED", was throwing around speculation about race and religion, etc. It's nonsense.

No wonder people in this country are so damn scared.

But they often muzzle themselves when it comes to terrorism, especially when an Islamist is involved. That's a rather odd thing to say in response. It is obvious that the US media is driven by the need to entertain not inform. That's why the media tells you how you should feel when reporting stories and uses emotive and emotional language to whip up the audience. Wanting that removed from US media reporting of news stories does not translate as my not wanting 'them' to tell 'the truth'. That simply makes no sense as a response.

Why do you think he would have that in his pocket? And if he did, what different does it make? My wife sleeps with a piece of paper that's in Arabic, to keep away bad dreams. If this is on her person, she's no more a terrorist than I am.
