It was a heart-wrenching few months but we finally got our visa. My fiance interviewed on 5 Jan and got denied because we didn't have "enough proof" of our relationship. We collected various other documentation (more pictures of us and me and her family together, literally dozens of pages of telephone calls between us, IMs, e-mails) and got ready for another interview.

The first time she got interviewed the interviewer was tough, wanting to know every damn detail about our relationship and making her nervous all the while. He finally said that he couldn't approve the visa and gave her a sheet of paper with what he needed from us. We gathered the necessary information and she went back 3 weeks hence.

Once she got there she said that he seemed more friendly. The dude hardly looked at the documents we provided before he said something to the effect of "everything looks good" and approved us.

Moral of the story: if you're denied the first time don't despair, it's not over. Get the information they want and provide it and hope that they're in a better mood the next time you see them.

Our Timeline

08/03/06 -- Met online, have chatted almost every day since then

09/29/06 -- Met in person at the Lima Airport. 10 wonderful days together.

10/31/06 -- I-129F mailed to TSC

11/09/06 -- CSC cashes the check

11/14/06 -- NOA-1 Received

11/16/06 -- We get 11 days together in Arequipa (Betty's home town). I meet her family for the first time.

12/28/06 -- We get 19 days together in Arequipa. I'll be back in February.

01/18/07 -- Touched! First sign of life.

01/19/07 -- 12:10 AM, NOA-2! APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!! On to the next step.

01/19/07 -- Touched again, around 11 AM. I guess we're on the way to the NVC!!

10/17/2006--Cairo sent packet 3 for the second time to my fiance. First one was never recieved.

10/19/2006--Packet 3 recieved.

12/20/2006--Packet 3 sent.

12/21/2006--Cairo Embassy recieved packet 3.

2/21/2007---Packet 4 recieved.

3/12/2007---Interview (He Passed)!

3/12/2007---Administrative Processing begins.............God please help me get through this!

7/17/2007---Our 2 Year Anniversay!!!

10/23/2007--7 months and 2 weeks of A/P and still waiting..........God help me!

4/22/2008---2nd Interview ( keep us in your prayers)

4/22/2008--He was approved for the Visa 2-3 weeks until he recieves it in the mail lets hope so!!

6/03/2008--VISA IN HAND! Thank you god!

7/03/2008--Our Wedding Day!

You two are fantastic. Should be proud of yourselves for staying strong together even after the visa denial. I don't think any kind of hurdles would easily hurt your relationship from now on ward...:) Congratulations and have a wonderful life together.
