joint sponsor affidavit guide and noa2 wait time

Two questions. NOA2 still not recieved after 7 months. Service request sent; received response that we are in line for case to be seen. Nebraska service center showing average 5 months wait time. Should we be worried?

Second- using a joint sponsor to be sure for approval (work and assets will meet but if house cant be counted for us living there then we can not be approved). Sponsor income returns show more then enough income both years before last (2011, 2012). Last return (2013) does not meet guidelines needed with dependents. Pay stubs for this year already show more then enough to meet income guidelines. On affidavit, we fill in all three years but unsure how to add for the last tax return. Interview is not really expected until after the first of the year anyhow now. Would we have to wait for the next year taxes to be filed or can we add somewhere the last paystub for the current year?

Well I wouldn't be concerned with paystubs you aren't even at the NVC yet.

Once you get approved then you go to NVC and present your Affidavit of support. I am sure by then you may well me needing 2014 tax returns.

When you fll in the 3 years its preset, last year and the year before that.

Current income will be what you will make by the end of the year if you happen to get to NVC and get AOS in by end of December.

Thank you for responding. Spouse will be interviewing in Naples. We understood the affidavit would be sent in before an interview is scheduled. Clarification of the correct procedure for the steps following the NOA2 regarding the affidavit part and interview would be appreciated.

I gather from your response there is no need for alarm for the wait time in this moment.

We are just over 7 months waiting for the NOA2 as well from NSC. Also sent in a service request last month, which said the petition was still pending security checks. I got in touch with our state senator and am hoping they will be able to speed up the process, you might want to consider that too.

Back on again: Really worrying. Contacted senator Nelson for my state some weeks ago. Was sent a form to fax with information requested and signature. The only response is that they received the fax. months and still counting. In two days I can call for a second 'service request' as two months have passed since the first one. Watching timelines; we seem to be one of the very few left behind from the March filers.

Lawyer filed for us but I am concerned they were not thorough (we gave them all our info and proof-however we have been married and living in spouse' country for almost 4 years prior to return to US. Lawyer was brief and condescending saying in an email to us that was not needed until interview). After, we have heard nothing from the lawyer even from mails. When I call I am told in a very condescending way that nothing is needed and I will hear from them. Which has been the last 6 months ago. Have yet to be able to talk to the lawyer (always the secretary) and receive no answers to questions. We spent an amazing amount for this particular firm-now wondering if they may have even caused the hold up. We received every copy from the service center that was supposed to go to the lawyer with an attached letter saying it was returned to them. They stalled a good 4 weeks to even submit the initial application after they received full payment from us (I originally went to see them Feb 3). After many times calling, mailing and visiting while nicely being told they were working on it and there were a lot of other people they saw it was finally filed on March 11. We received NOA1 March 13. Would even be better if we received an RFE at this point. Then we could respond to that. Anyone with any more info or help would be really appreciated. We can be patient, but we are more concerned when anyone else from that time is approved and we are still hearing nothing.

SCRATCH THAT!!!! NOA2 APPROVED AS OF TODAY!!!!! Just a note- processing times in Nebraska as of Nov are now closer to 7-8 months according to the rep we talked to when called today. Apparently they are still showing 5 months the average wait time on the official site.
