@ianh yeah same goes with my fiancée she said the hr lady just fax documents whenever they need one. That's why she's worrying if the document needs to be originally signed ( like wet signature)

That's definitely more convenient. I wish all employers were like that. My mother has been going through hell to get an employment letter and the HR lady there never picks up the phone.

I imagine. I am not bothering getting a wet signature. I will just print out the form I can access and the page that says it can be used for immigration purposes. Is there a supervisor that could sign your mother's employment letter?

I'm not sure if a faxed copy is acceptable, but someone else can confirm for sure. I would think you'd be fine with a faxed copy because the instructions don't specifically say you need an original, but I can't confirm that, unfortunately.

This does not constitute legal advice.

Unfortunately, no. The only one authorized there to sign employee records is the HR lady, otherwise it would have been resolved already. But it's only because her employer's office is so far away, she doesn't want to go there in vain.

@ianh yeah well just figure it out then since she has her manger working with her everyday, maybe she can ask for a signed letter supporting the faxed document from the hr people plus she have her original pay stubs, we just hope it helps :(

I also worked at a large company where the HR department outsourced this kind of stuff, so I printed the automatically generated letter on company letterhead on a long ago K1 AoS and also made sure my former fiance had copies of all my paystubs for that year and the previous one handy at her interview. No human signatures at all on any of it, and there was no issue at her interview.

Same with my mother who requested the letter in September. Always come back tomorrow or next week.

I work for a mega corporation and getting HR to sign anything like that is impossible. The company has its own income and employment verification sheet on its network that you can print out. Hopefully, that is not a problem

Not a problem at all. Take that and some recent pay stubs along with most recent tax transcript.

To add to this discussion here, you need to prove your employment/current income. A letter printed off from a company website that contains all the vital information works just as well as some letter you would type out yourself and have HR or a supervisor sign. When adding it with some recent pay stubs from the company, it shows all the proof they need of your employment and income amount. A letter from employer is not even a requirement, unless your consulate states they absolutely need one. It is just one type of documentation that can be used to prove income for an affidavit of support, so stressing over wet signatures is not really needed.

Hi guys, my fiancée have a question about the poverty guideline and income requirement for the affidavit if support, Is the amount on the poverty guideline BEFORE or aFTER tax? Coz her monthly income is like 2k/month before tax or she makes roughly 1500/month after taxes. We're wondering if she's gonna qualify, were worried and we don't waana get denied coz of that. Any response will be greatly appreciated :)

Gross income = before taxes

Employment letter is optional in Manila, bring the faxed copy if that is all you have, odds are it will not be asked for. What USEM does look for is the most recent tax return and W-2 and that the income meets the 125% poverty guideline.

Pop over to the Philippines forum, great group there to help out.
