We pretty much have the basis for that now with social security cards. Why not just make those photo IDs?

I'm ok with an ID card for voting, as long as EVERYONE who is legal to vote gets one and no one is left out.

You must be reading from Gegel's ESL dictionary.

I think it's worth drawing attention to the fact that you are personalising the discussion.

All I have said is that to create an effective identification document isn't something that can be done cheaply. Again, you don't have to agree with that - I'm not forcing you. There's not much else that can be said.

Yeah same here.

What is personalising? Do you mean personalizing?

Brilliant. Do you have any more of this?

I'd give you my twitter account if I had one, then you could follow my every thought and not miss a thing.

Everyone who needs one. My guess is very few would

I agree. I bet there are a miniscule amount of people nationwide who are legal and have no ID

Out of the pool of potential people who do not posess an id, who are legal to vote, which class of people would you say has the largest number of folks without id? Upper class, middle class, or lower class?

the same class that miraculously finds a way to get an ID to accept a benefit they qualify for.

Ok then, you agree. The lower class or poorest of the people account for the largest number of people without id's. They also usually vote democrat.

No.

Getting an id for some lower class people will be an issue, which is what Republicans want.

until there is a benefit involved. yes, republicans want people with a right to vote to vote.

No, Republicans want to dazzle their base with this bs fallacy of voter fraud stealing elections from them, rather than manning up and admiting their stone age ideology is no longer popular and it's time for a change.

yes. you refuse to admit the truth. getting an ID is no problem, if you want one. it'd be nice if the dems would come up with an excuse that wasn't so laughable.

Most people without an id are poor. Most poor people vote democrat.

I'm not saying that this is a major problem or that it is a legitimate reason not to have a voter id law. What I am saying is that spending millions of dollars on implementing voter id laws simply for the reason of preventing voter fraud is a waste of money. I am in favor of a national id system, but not for preventing something like voter fraud that has been proven really isn't a legitimate problem. If a national id system was geared more towards preventing the hiring of illegal immigrants, I think it would garner much more support.

ID's are cheap. Why can't the Dem's come up with an ID program that the government pays for?
