I am sure the state of TX or WI would be glad to pay for the expenses. After call you can't put a price on voter fraud!

I see a passport as the best solution. If you can't afford $135 every 10 years for the privilege of voting, you prolly don't vote anyway.

Not sure what percent of the population already has one, but Shirley there are enough already issued that would reduce any state or federal burden (doing it your way). I say let individuals buy their own. Then they can vote AND travel to foreign countries!

That would be a fair way to go about it. Make sure the state gives everyone the chance to get the documentation it demands and foot the bill. It is the honorable thing to do, which is why I have a strong feeling neither TX nor WI will do it.

Sometimes it is just that easy...

They are permitted to vote in some state and local elections if citizenship,is not a requirement. I don't know which states allow that. But voting in Federal elections is not allowed and is a prosecutable offense.

The article only speaks of national candidates: House, Senate, Presidential, so it's safe to assume that's what their statistic is based on.

In its current form, the existing legislation will prevent certain groups from voting.

That added to ballot stuffing will ensure favorable results to the GOP.

So I looked up ballot stuffing and found the definition:

Ballot stuffing is a type of electoral fraud whereby a person permitted only one vote submits multiple ballots. It can also happen when a person instead of casting votes in a single booth casts his/her vote in multiple booths.

Ballot stuffing can take various forms:

1. a ballot stuffer casts vote on behalf of people who did not show up to the polls. This type of ballot stuffing is known as telegraphing.

2. votes will be cast by those who are long dead or by fictitious characters This is known as padding.

So I'm still trying to understand how a national i.d. that will make it harder for people to commit voter fraud will somehow make it more difficult for certain groups of people to vote (blacks, hispanics, Democrats) but will also make it easier for another group (GOP minions, Teas, Republicans) to cheat. Please explain.

Interesting testimonial.

I don't know of any adults who would even consider engaging in a debate with a 4-year old, and while at it, entertain the notion of 'winning', unless of course you're 5 or 6. I can guarantee you that for the rest of us, adults, it doesn't make much sense. When you grow older you'll understand.

The article only speaks of national candidates: House, Senate, Presidential, so it's safe to assume that's what their statistic is based on.

The article is based on a study which s turn based on survey data that is self reported and not gathers by the surveys authors. It des not restrict data to those who voted in national elections. The authors themselves bring questions about data quality into their article, but maybe WP made them do it to maintain a consistent liberal bias in the onslaught of this overwhelming evidence

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.
