The crazy cop goes to jail. Why are you leaving that part out?

What's the litmus test for violent street criminal? A guy who pushes a store clerk and gets into an altercation with the police is fits the bill? You must have been scared to death of Kip.

There's quite a few folks that fill this bill as teenager. As for the assault, I'm still waiting for the proof that he was beaten almost to death.

Dave, anyone can get an id for state benefits, even illegal aliens. One does not need to be a citizen to do so. So what good is that id in the terms of preventing voter fraud?

31 very small known cases of voter fraud since the year 2000 is somehow a problem? For who?

31 drivers are pulled over for speeding. All fight the system. Some don't pay, some pay a little, some pay a lot, and some may even get a harsher sentence.

But would you agree with me that while those 31 people were getting written up by a LEO, many, many more drivers were speeding as they went by? The crime was committed, went undiscovered.

How can we know with any level of certainty that the same does or does not hold true for voting? Personally, I think it is true here also.

In Nassau County, NY, at least 270 dead people have voted: http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Dead-Voter-List-Long-Island-Nassau-County-Newsday-230030371.html

In North Carolina, 765 voters voted in two different states: http://www.ijreview.com/2014/04/126263-think-theres-no-voter-fraud-dead-voters-in-nc/

The crosscheck also found 35,570 voters in North Carolina who voted in 2012 whose first names, last names and dates of birth match those of voters who voted in other states in 2012, but whose Social Security numbers were not matched.

Just a quick look at google. Lots more out there. It happens, I believe. No one is going to convince me otherwise. Does it happen enough to make a difference? Well, I guess that all depends on how close the race was without the dead votes, eh?

Beaten almost to death ??? Really.. Let me call Fox News

where did you read he was beaten almost to death?

Initial reports say he was beaten almost unconscious, or he was beaten until he had a fractured eye socket, or his face was bruised. Take your pick since no one seems to have their story straight. Nope, nothing strange about it at all..

I still don't see any valid argument against requiring an ID to vote. Conversely, there's not much of an argument requiring an ID TO vote. If Texas wants to spend a few bucks asking people for an ID before they vote, and the people of Texas are in favor of it, who cares? What's the big deal?

You have to ask, why now, right before an election?. The election rules have been unchanged since 2002. Were the other elections invalid and riddled with fraud? What compelling public interest is served? A few thoughts:

There have been two cases of voter fraud in Texas since 2002. Is all of this burden on voters worthy of two votes?

Texas is undergoing demographic shift that will move Texas from Republican to Democrat (in about 8 years. Republicans make the rules and have the calculus that this law will help, at least for this cycle.

The changes come too soon to the election to effectively roll out the policy, procedure and training. Mistakes will be made. On average which group will benefit from mistakes and confusion ?

if you have been going to the same polling place fro 50years, you saunter in an greet the official your neighbor or relative who has known you forever but you have no id, you don't vote.

This is a new check and it will take longer at the polls. In some cases so long that voters may not get through the line before closing. What is Texas doing to ensure everyone entitled to vote, gets to vote?

This law does not apply to voting by mail , why and what group does that favor?

Another check takes time which is staff and money but Texas made no provision for the added resources. Why?

The name on the voters register and the photo id must substantially match. If your drivers license has you new married name but the register has your old name, you don't vote . If the register says Hernández and your DL says Hernández-Castillo, you don't vote. Even if the address matches.

I used my non photo voter id card (before Washington went to all mail.) for years... that would not be good enough under the new law.

But this is not a poll tax because the state will provide you with a voter id card FOR FREE

If you want a free id card, you can get one, if you go to the DMV and you have Texas photo id or dl? (why would you need id if you have id? OR you have Two of the following

  1. Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by the appropriate State Bureau of Vital Statistics or equivalent agency;
  2. Original or certified copy of United States Department of State Certification of Birth (issued to United States citizens born abroad);
  3. Original or certified copy of court order with name and date of birth (DOB) indicating an official change of name and/or gender; or
  4. U.S. citizenship or naturalization papers without identifiable photo.

And your voter id card

And proof of citizenship as follows

  1. U.S. passport book or card; or
  2. Birth certificate issued by a U.S. state, U.S. territory or District of Columbia; or
  3. For U.S. citizens born abroad—Certificate of Report of Birth (DS-1350 or FS-545) or Consular Report of Birth (FS-240) issued by the U.S. Department of State; or
  4. U.S. Certificate of Citizenship or Certificate of Naturalization (N-560, N-561, N-645, N-550, N-55G, N-570 or N-578); or
  5. U.S. Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service U.S. Citizen ID Card (Form I-197 or I-179)

In other words...it takes more id to get a voter card tan it does to work in this country. You can't get a voter id card unless you don't need one and the entire free id scam id BS.

It is apparent to me that those in power are adding new last minute constraints targeted at certain groups designed to stop people from voting. There is no compelling public interest served. This law is designed to keep those with power in power, it is un-American at the core.

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

Well initial reports also called Brown a gentle giant who was colleg bound that had never been in trouble and was shot for walking in the road while black. thar is why it is important to get the facts before you burn the town down

And yet, there's still no evidence of this beat down Brown delivered to Wilson. No pictures, and no one has laid eyes on Wilson since then. And when you look at the NH riot that took place earlier this week, where are the disparaging comments? Black people in Ferguson are fed up with the ways things have been going and because of some stupid looters, the whole message has been lost. The folks in NH? They acted a fool over a football game, where's the angry tax payers? Where's the single parent comments?

The case is far from over. All I'm asking for is the evidence that Wilson was assaulted in his car. GZ at least his pictures to say he was in an altercation with TM.
