Spoke to a tier 2 today who said we have not yet cleared security checks but have been assigned to an officer.

Has anyone came across this before? I have heard of people being stuck in security checks for months!

That sounds backwards. As far as I know, security checks come first (as in, near the very beginning) and then being assigned to an officer means you're close to getting an approval. I have no idea what that could mean for you...sorry.

I'd take it with a grain of salt. I think some of the Tier 2's make things up to get you to hang up so they can move on to the next victim. We were told with utter conviction at the end of December that our case was sitting at Nebraska. My fiance called back and spoke to another Tier 2 agent who confirmed that we are still (as we expected) at TSC.

Hopefully the 'assigned to an officer' part is correct for you though :) That means you should hear something soon!

I write these lines with mixed emotions. I actually don't know how to write it. But I know how it feels to for wait for this day and this email. So I must pray for all who haven't been approved yet for a quick, very quick approval and then share that with the help and blessings of Almighty we have been APPROVED!. Email received at 11 pm sharp. No text. Status changed on site. Thanks you all sooooo much!
