One Eight Zero!!!! Yes. 180 days since we received NOA1. This number seemed scary whenever we thought about it and had hoped we never get to this point. But here we are. She cries most of the day and I, though the strong one since the beginning, have also started to feel weak.

Have tried to stay positive but like to know from others how are we dealing with this? I mean at the end of the day we are human beings and this process is testing us in ways we never imagined.

I remember when we reached the 180 day mark and to answer your question I don't think there is any easy way to deal with this. Personally, I try to keep myself busy, so that I won't think about it. Of course that has its limits because all I want is for us to be together. Some days are harder than others, and surely hearing love songs doesn't help...But at this point I have found it helpful to not look at days but weeks. The little brain game has been helping....I mean its already half way through the month of January....and lots of prayers works. When I find myself really down and I don't want my fiance to get even more down I just pray about it and just trust everything will be ok.

We'll hear something soon ;) hang in there guys!!!

I had many ups and downs, more downs when I had too much free time. So I realized that I should keep myself busy, working full time helped me a lot and also coming here on the last week every day for talking [Maria&Steve!:)] really made my days better. More than human beings on the end of the day, we're human beings in love... so feel the drama.

yes you are right 100% but at the end we are waiting and nothing to do except waiting and the problem is that waiting leads to more waiting to extent that you feel that the approval will not come , i almost completed 6 months and i got nothing till now , BE POSITIVE ,, OK ,, i will !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone hang in there don't lose hope! Remember everything will be worth it in the end!

I have a couple of questions regarding after getting approved, I've been researching but I am still a little bit confused. After getting NOA2 what can we do to get ahead of the game? We already filled out a DS-160, we have gather all the required documents and proof of income. Do we just simply wait for the Embassy in El Salvador to contact us or NVC? What number are we suppose to get when it reaches NVC? Can my fiancé do the medical examination already? I read some where that after we get our new case number from NVC that we can schedule for interview ourselves?

Sorry if its too many questions, I just want to get a clear understanding and eliminate all possible errors and make this upcoming process go smoothly.

I would look on the El Salvador consulate website http://sansalvador.usembassy.gov/k1-visas.html and http://photos.state.gov/libraries/elsavador/467224/Updated_Fees_Sep2014/Revised_NIV_Paquete_K1_Sep2014.pdf

Don't forget the El Salvador portal on VJ.

When or how the process moves forward varies significantly by consulate.

That happens. There're still people from June waiting, it's hard to know how they work. I was approved with 190 days, and yes seems that it would never be over. But it will be over, hang in there. January will be a good month, keep faith.

I completely understand this. My fiance and I were headstrong in the beginning, even up to two months ago. We received our NOA1 on July 8 and haven't heard anything since. One USCIS inquiry, one Senator inquiry, a bunch of frustrating "conversations" later and we are exactly where we were on July 8 - nowhere.

We both kept holding each other up. I would freak out - he would calm me down. Then it was my turn to do that for him. Once we hit 5 months and we still couldn't get anywhere - we kept hitting a brick wall with USCIS we started to both get frustrated and depressed over this entire process. It's so disheartening. Once we hit 6 months a few days ago.. I don't know. He is getting fed up, I am exhausted with my own country's inability to handle important paperwork for it's citizens, we are both past the point where we try to hold each other up.

What USCIS doesn't seem to care about is how it affects our lives. My fiance's life is on hold and his employer is being less than nice about his upcoming move... and we still sit here with no answers, no timeline. I get so upset because I don't know what to tell him. I can only work the petition from my end with what I have and everything I have tried has failed. Now what? I completely get where you are coming from. It's testing us too, which says a lot, as we've been together long distance for 6 years. This year is worse than all of those!

It just bothers me that all of these relationships should be rejoicing that they finally get a chance to be together.. and it takes so long, for some it may not come for a long long time. It really puts a damper on the exhiliration of finally being able to BE TOGETHER! That's the only thing we all want. It simply should not be this difficult.

Good luck my fellow July filers, hopefully January is our month :dancing:
