Do these count or are we just going to ignore them? The VA tech was a Korean male.

Not counting the 8 year old who killed the guy with the uzi(wasn't her fault) or the random stories of people just killing folks.

I want my thread back...this is not about race..this is about who bears the cost of gun violence or accidents

BUT if you want to take your race rant onto another thread you can jump off with this information compiled from CDC data by the Washington Post. Blacks are twice as likely to commit homicide with a gun Per Capita (maybe they are better shots), But the prevalence of white people in America mean that white people commit more homicides with guns.

Society as a whole, victims in particular.

So society as a whole should be able to dictate the terms of property ownership that leads to the financial burden and individuals ( or their estates) should be able to pursue civil damages.

And accidents...

If you fail to secure a gun in your house ( say very stupidly no safety in the seat cushion of the couch , and your guest unknowingly discharges the weapon into his thigh..he might be inclined to go after you and your insurance company.

Twice if you only use CDC measures...more for young men and more if you tend to drink and handle weapons..but if the insurance companies are on it , they will get real good with an actuarial analysis. What they may find is that certain neighborhoods generate higher costs. This would help drive public safety investment. Money speaks quite loudly.

Sorry Rob, but when you talk about gun control and responsibility, black people will always be brought up. It's some people's way of saying, don't worry about us, worry about them.

Not even comparable to what is happening in places like chicago.

And yet, lives are still lost due to gun violence, the color doesn't matter. And please tell one of the parents who lost their kids in the Sandy Hook massacre at least you don't live in Chicago.

The biggest property ownership issue is probably that causing obesity, however there seemingly is no case against say McDonalds who serve the clinically obese. Should they not bear responsibility?

If you are negligent and somebody say trips and falls you could get sued. It happens with guns as well. But I am sure a very small percentage of those negligent incidents arise out of guns, so why fixate on them?
