Yes you can apply for SSN before married even if you are changing your name. But it is recommended to wait 2 weeks after you enter as the records will not be up to date and could delay if they have to do it manually.

Check out

For all you need.

Then apply for marriage liecense, then get married, then apply for AOS, EAD and AP.

Www.visa journey.com/content/k1k3aos

Lists all the forms needed with links including G325A, I-864 and I-485. With complete instructions just like the petition stage.

With the medical thing you are not required to have another one as long as your i-485 is filled within a year of your overseas medical, unless you are missing vaccinations.

After POE is this order right? 2 and 3 could be switched, 5, 6, 7, 8 are all sent together, 9 comes before this last mentioned groupings and 10 is sent along with the grouping. Read the instructions for fees.

1-Apply for electronic I-194

2-Apply for SSN

3-Apply for Marriage license

4-Get the marriage Certificate

5-Fill form Form I-485

6-Fill G325 A (of Both?)

b)-Is it ok to apply for SSN before marriage since I am not having my name changed? Yes

c)-I took my Medicals in August. I am not sure what else is remaining or if it is incomplete . How do I make sure of this? Need the 693 vaccinations transcripted by a CS

d)-How much would the fees be? CSs charge what they want, the AOS fees are found on the instructions for the 485

e)-G325 a is needed for both petitioner and beneficiary ? Read the Guides and the Instructions.

f)-Do I need to wait 2 weeks before I apply for SSN? Usually that's suggested.

g)- Do they hand you the marriage certificate ?Can you ask for that , than waiting it to be mailed to you? Mail to you, have extra certified copies sent for future uses.

h)-We are planning a court wedding and then a church wedding. Would the court wedding help us to receive the marriage certificate faster? Yes

i)-Do you need to submit any proof of relationship such as wedding pictures or affidavits ? No

h)-We are planning a court wedding and then a church wedding. Would the court wedding help us to receive the marriage certificate faster?

i)-Do you need to submit any proof of relationship such as wedding pictures or affidavits ?

a) Nothing is given at POE.

b) Yes you can apply for your SSN before marriage

c) Do you have a copy of your Form DS-3025 you received at your medical exam? If this form is complete and you have received all required vaccinations AND your medical is less than 1 year old, you only need to send in the DS-3025 with your AOS forms.

d) The fees for filing AOS is $1070. This is for all AOS forms, including EAD/AP.

e) Only the person applying for the AOS needs to submit the G-325A. The person applying would be the K-1 visa holder.

f) No, there is no longer a need to wait since the I-94 is electronic. You can go to the SSA office and apply as soon after your POE.

g) After the marriage ceremony, the marriage license needs to be returned to your county recorder's office to be officially recorded in the records. You need an official copy of the marriage certificate after it is already registered with the county. This may vary from state to state, and the speed at which you can receive the official marriage certificate can vary as well. In Iowa, I was able to return the marriage license to the county recorder's office the next business day, and get a certified copy the same day. I was married on a Saturday, I received my marriage certificate the following Monday. You can either go into the office and have them give it to you, or you can request they mail it to you. It's faster to just go in and get it.

h) The wedding itself (court or church) isn't what determines how fast you receive the marriage certificate. What determines that is how fast you can get the license to the recorder's office and how fast the recorder's office can register your marriage and give you a certified copy of the marriage certificate. In our case I asked the judge if I could return the license myself, which she happily obliged.

I) You do not need to send proof of relationship with the AOS packet. All you need is the required documentation.

There is no longer a need to wait, since the SAVE database is updated immediately after POE due to the now electronic I-94s.

I don't have this DS 3025 copy with me. The hospital handed nothing to me. The embassy sent me the brown envelope and that is all I have with me . What should I do now?

b)-Is it ok to apply for SSN before marriage since I am not having my name changed? Absolutely. as a K1 holder, you are eligible for a SSN.

e)-G325 a is needed for both petitioner and beneficiary ? I've seen mixed answers about this. The petitioner for AOS was the beneficiary from K1. Officially, it's not needed for the sponsor. We did one for him and sent it in, then did one for me and will take it to the interview, just in case.

f)-Do I need to wait 2 weeks before I apply for SSN? no need to wait anymore. my husband applied the Monday after arriving on a Friday night, and all went just fine.

g)- Do they hand you the marriage certificate ?Can you ask for that , than waiting it to be mailed to you? Ask this when making your appointment for your courthouse wedding.

h)-We are planning a court wedding and then a church wedding. Would the court wedding help us to receive the marriage certificate faster? If you are getting married at the courthouse, ask if you can have it that same day. We did this in Santa Barbara, Ca. We told them beforehand, and they were great about having it registered and in our hands that afternoon. A lot of times this process all takes place in the same location.

i)-Do you need to submit any proof of relationship such as wedding pictures or affidavits ? For the AOS application? no. You will need several "passport" photos though. That proof can be brought with you when you go for your interview.

when you had the medical they must have discussed your jabs with you, otherwise how do they know what to write on the DS3025, the original of which will be in the envelope you handed in at POE. If you don't know/ can't remember then file anyway and you will get an RFE if you're not in date, then deal with it.

You have just had a medical (k-1) if you have had one within 1 year, ""NO civil surgeon, just send in your inoculation form with your AOS, and it should be fine, ours was.

You seem to have thing under control.

Nice to see you did not make the same mistake we made, "waited until after marriage to get ssn, when we went there was no such name as my wife's married name, only what she entered on .,,.,,the I-94, her entry name, and maiden name.,.,.,.,.,get to SS office soon after P.O.E.!

Yeah, but I didn't receive any inoculation forms . All I have in my hand is the brown envelope the embassy sent me.And the worst thing is it is even torn on the side of the envelope. :huh2::huh2:
