Very happy for those who get approved so quick but is a lil unfair how many people have to wait months to get approved.

We filed at the beginning of the month through the Chicago office. It took about a week but it was received and approved and is now on its way to the California office.

We got married here in the Philippines and sent a copy of our marriage certificate from the office of civil registrar. Our case was sent to Nebraska Service Center now we are just waiting for an update. We couldn't check our case on the uscis website yet it coz it says to wait for our Form I-797 by mail... Although I have the NSO marriage certificate already, i hope they wont ask for an RFE anymore coz it would delay the process again (they lost our check btw so we had to cancel it and send another one)

Sent our docs october 1st week,and october 15 we received a mail that they received our petition.And on november 5 our case was approved and they sent it to NVC.

Hi guys, I'm new here and just as confused.

I mailed my husband's I-130 on October 27th, got an email on november 5th stating they received our case and fowarded to California center. We still have not received our NOA1 hardcopy in the mail. I am a bit worried. I checked the status online and says:

On November 3, 2014, we received your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number XXXXXXXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by December 3, 2014, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

So what now?? What is the next step once I receive it? Once it gets approved will they send the NOA2 packet? Sorry, very confused keeping all these steps straight.

Using the receipt number in the email, you can try to look up your case on the USCIS site anytime. Don't be concerned if the case isn't available online. There can be quite a delay. Also, :time:

I have a question, hope someone can help me. From the NOA, there is a "Preference Classification" , can tell me what is the meaning of : 201 B INA SPOUSE OF USC

Thanks in advance!

201 B INA refers to section 201b of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). What you see listed under 'Preference Classification' indicates that the beneficiary is the spouse of the USC (US Citizen) petitioner.

When did you send in your petition as you didn't complete your timeline? They have rejected two of us now with the local certificate.

At least you have the NSO certificate so your delay wouldnt be to much, but I understand nobody wants a delay.

Hopefully you will get lucky.

For those that are compulsively checking the USCIS site as I have been, the only two times my case was updated was when the case was input (giving 'we received your petition on...' status) and yesterday (giving 'your petition was approved on...' status). I had signed up for an account on USCIS because I believed that I would be able to see 'touches' when my case was being worked on or moved around. The joke was on me! :no: It was great getting the email update right when my status changed though.

I hope that everyone else moves swiftly through USCIS and NVC. It's a long road. I just hope it isn't too bumpy. :star:

Congratulations! Best of luck in the next leg of your visa journey. I'd like to follow your progress through the NVC. So far, my experience has been much more disappointing that the experience I had with USCIS.

05/04/2015 - Interview date received by phone, scheduled for 06/10/2015

05/08/2015 - Received P4 email

05/12/2015 - Embassy received case from NVC

06/10/2015 - Interview approved!!! :)

07/20/2015 - Visa received
