Yesterday afternoon (3pm central) I got another email from NVC saying I could pay the AOS. That was all done and now I mailed off both packages this morning with the AOS barcode cover sheet on both.

Eager to begin the 60 day wait for review. Good luck to all!! If your case # was just assigned you should get another email soon to open AOS fee.

Finally I have my case number. YEAH!!!

I follprobably instruction to go to the website to choose an agent, however I entered the case number and the incoive number, the system said it didn't match.......

Can someone tell me what's wrong with that? Or just because the system didn't update yet?

I mailed our documents today too. I only included the cover sheet that was included with the welcome letter (the one with the check boxes). The info on ceac after paying the AOS fee made it look like the AOS cover sheet was only needed if the welcome letter cover sheet was unavailable.

Looks like you're stateside, so your 60 day clock will probably start before mine. Good luck!

Yes I am in the states and I paid a ridiculous amount for shipping overnight. At this point it's like water in a bucket haha just taking all my money! Anything to hurry it along a few days quicker.

I forked over the extra cash for express shipping. The woman at the post office thinks I'm off my rocker for going to such lengths for what looked like a letter. The service comes with tracking, which was super important to me. I would literally go insane if I had to wait on NVC to know that those documents arrived at their destination. I did the same when submitting the I-130 and have no regrets.

As far as I am concerned and have read, yes. I haven't seen it ever cause a checklist and have seen others indicating an NVC rep confirmed to send in when documents are ready.

It's not normal but I have seen another VJ member that never got the welcome letter/email. Thank goodness you were proactive in calling NVC to get your case number and IIN so you could continue the process.

Our status with USCIS is still "received" and we have not seen a NOA2, not in the email nor as a hardcopy. Well, seems like it's moving forward anyway ... And no, we did not call or send an inquiry about our case.

Wow! What unexpected yet wonderful news. Congratulations!

I thought it was odd you hadn't been approved yet. I believe it's possible to use the online service at USCIS to request they mail you a new NOA2 copy if you want it for your records. Not needed to move forward though. Welcome to NVC processing. May your journey be swift and smooth!

I can see on your timeline that you've paid the AOS fee. The DS-261 (choice of agent) form is the next thing to be completed. Once the DS-261 is submitted and reviewed, the IV fee will be released. I am suspecting that the DS-260 is open after the IV fee is paid and processed, but have not gotten that far. Perhaps someone else can chime in here that has more knowledge.

You may submit the AOS and IV packages at any time. Just make sure that you send them together and that you use a bar coded cover sheet. I used the one included with the NVC welcome letter (as written on NVC site), but many have successfully used the AOS bar coded cover sheet that can be printed out after paying the AOS fee. Make sure that you double and triple check everything before sending it off.
