Hello All:

I've been looking around VJ Forums searching for any information about the NBC/MSC and application hold- ups.

Some of the members have called CIS to find out why they have heard nothing in regards to approval (or disapproval) of the applications. Of course, once an inquiry is started, the applicants have to wait and see.

We have been waiting on news from the NBC/MSC regarding Liam's work permit December 19, 2005 (when his AOS/EAD apps were received by the NBC) and to be fair, we have only been counting since his biometrics were taken on 22 February. When we checked the status, the website shows a "touched" date of 25 February and states that it takes 30 to 90 days for this type of case to be processed and we will be notified of a decision when processing has been completed (same, usual, noncommital statement.) Many of the VJ members receive their EAD only a few days after their biometrics, and there are a few posts where members found out (according to CIS) their EAD's were "lost in the mail (sure, of course they were)."

Since some members haven't heard anything under similar circumstances, if interested, please post here with your information so we can get a general feel for those of us "lost in space.":blink:

Thank you much...

Lynn

Hi there,

We filed my AOS and EAD in December 2005. We received our NOA early January 2006. The EAD I was able to look up online and check the status - for what that is worth. Our applications for AOS have never appeared online. I became a little worried when I read that some VJ posters here had received Biometrics appointments or even approval after filing their applications after me. So, this morning I phoned them. After waiting on hold for close to an hour and being transferred to a couple of departments I received the following information:

1. My EAD was approved in February. I should have received notice of this but hadn't. I should have received a letter about my Biometrics but haven't. The officer I spoke to was going to look into the case and send out notice of the EAD approval and another letter, or the original letter, for our Biometrics appointment.

2. Even though I cannot access our AOS applications online they are in the system and being processed. Apparently all is going well with them. We will be notified of the status of the application at some point in the future - ha ha ha ha!

So, I guess I am telling you that the processing system is still screwed up and very inefficient. By the time I receive my EAD it will have been valid for one month already! What a waste of money that will be. The other thing to keep in mind is that even if you can't look up your receipt number online, that doesn't mean it isn't being processed.

The joys of waiting, inefficiency and lack of information.

I wouldn't freak out just yet. Take a look at our timeline. It took 97 days to even get the biometrics appointment. It looks as if you should be soon! Also...I'll bet you'll have an AOS interview around June in WPB. (I know someone who applied a month after us and got an interview in April.)
