My name is Alyssa,

I am new to this website. I am just here trying to get some help and see other peoples journeys. My Husband left the USA voluntarily to go back to his home country which is El Salvador December 27, 2013. He left 2 weeks before our third son was born. He had his Interview and medical exam Jan 9, 2014. His waiver was approved on April 23, 2014. We have officially been waiting almost 6 months for his visa. Every time i call all they tell me is to keep waiting they never give me any information. I was just wondering if anyone else has been waiting a long time for their visa. I am so ready for my husband to come home My kids and i miss him so much and i cant wait until he can meet his son! I just wish we had a little bit of an idea as to how long it would take to get his visa. We do know that before he gets his visa he will have to redo his medical exam and finger prints, but we have not received any paperwork. If anyone has any info, advice or any of the same issues i would love to discuss it.

Thank you in advance!

Did they mention Additional Processing?

Welcome to the forum.

Please provide more information.

What type of visa are you and your husband going after?

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

My assumption is that the K1 is a mistake.

Hi,

You may want to start contacting your Congressman and Senators. If your waiver was approved there has to be something else up. Also what is your situation? Because your profile says K1 and if you are married you can't apply for a K1 visa.

I'm sorry I choose the wrong visa type. They have not mentioned any additional processing. All they say when I call to check on the status of the visa is to wait and that they will email us when there is an update and to refer to the email for instructions. But we the only thing we receive is emails stating we need to give them more time to complete the review. I have tried to go to my congressman I can't any response from his office. I'm kind of at a loss of what to do anymore. I'm just curious does anyone know what sort of wait times there should be from time the waiver is approved until the visa is issued for El Salvador(I'm not sure if the country matters?)? my lawyer has also tried getting ahold of the congressman with no luck and when he calls to get an update on the visa they say the same thing about waiting.

In addition to your congressman, you have two senators, contact them as well.

Six months is ridiculous and they can't be bothered to say why. This is exactly the kind of bureaucratic ####### that pisses me off.

I am going to contact them tomorrow. Thank you for your advice! I really hope I can get some information. I find it very rediculous that no one can give me any sort of time trame or information when I call.
