Clothes to wear for interview

Hello guys just wondering if Jeans and blouse is okay for an interview in Manila US EMBASSY..thank u..

I wouldn't necessarily come in food-stained Walmart pajamas, but they also don't need you to come in a Hugo Boss suit. Jeans and nice shirt is fine.

Descent casual clothes should be fine.

Although i am preepared to wear business suit for my interview at embassy

Just don't wear anything embarrassing like dirty clothes, haha. There's no dress code, so the only thing I'd worry about is insulting them thinking it's okay to come in some Adidas training pants.

When I went to the embassy I wore formal business attire but then when I went inside, I saw all the applicants were just wearing jeans and a blouse. I was too formal. Lol. It is ok to wear jeans and blouse as long as you look decent and presentable

I used my Steve Urkel outfit, Just kidding. I wore some Nice pants and a long sleeves shirt.

My wife wore some nice pants and and nice shirt. Thats it.

Depending on culture of course, but in Jamaica (at both my non-immigrant and immigrant interviews), I did not see any ladies in sleeveless or tanks. Most had on short sleeve shirts on a jacket over a little top. Jeans or skirt is quite appropriate as long as it isn't too short. I heard the security telling a lady that her skirt was too short..didn't stay to hear the outcome

I recommend to anyone dressing as if you were going to an informal job interview.

Women:

• jeans or skirt (at knees or below)
• dressy blouse, button up shirt, or plain shirt and blazer
• pumps/dress flats
• a casual summer dress (at the knees or below)
• Natural looking makeup
• Minimal Jewelry (wedding/engagement rings, one ring on right hand, 1-2 necklaces, studs in ears, one watch or bracelet).
• Neatly trimmed hair and nails, clean, and no perfume.
•

Men:

• Jeans or Khakis
• Button down shirt or plain shirt (no graphics or prints) and a blazer.
• Loafers or leather shoes.
• Minimal jewlery (wedding rings, one right-hand ring, 1-2 necklaces, one bracelet or watch, no earrings unless culturally expected)

Let's put it this way: My wife wore a business suit to her interview at USEM. Most ladies wore casual attire. Most ladies were grilled extensively. My wife was asked a few pro-forma questions and glided through the whole process.

Did the clothes make the difference? I don't know. But I do know it sure did not make things worse for her.
