My finace should be receiving his package from the embassy any day now. Unfortunately I just became aware of someone that was willing to be a sponsor....Because of this, we are sort of rushing. How long to we have to turn in this package after he receives it? I noticed the NOA2 has an expiration date....what if it expires?

Also, I'm getting worried about the financial situation. I have 2 cosponsors who meet all of the requirements, one a relative and the other a friend. The relative is my grandpa but he is very old, almost 90...I'm worried this may be bad...Also, I am a graduate student. I don't have a job that actually pays, but I am a graduate assistant and they pay me in the form of tuition. I also get a large amount of loans to live on....I don't think saying I live on loans will show capacity to support....also, I don't know how to prove that I can support him (cosponsors aside) when my job doesn't pay me directly but pays me for my education. Is there any way I could count this as income? Also, I'm in the process and have been in the process of applying for several jobs.....if I get a job after we have already sent in the package 3, can we bring this as evidence to the interview?

Please help! Thank you so much!

After the original filing of the petition unless it is an RFE you don't send in anything else.

Package is an old term, it's usually a case up date or a letter of instruction, ie the embassy have recieved your petition and are now telling you to book your medical.

Sponsorship, affidavit of support etc are things you take to the interview.

Please read the guides at the top of the forum.

-couldn't edit original post to add.

Your noa2 does have an expiry date, this is if you don't do the medical or interview in time or decide to stop the process, but the embassy will automatically extend the date once your interview is booked if it is after the date. Don't worry about the expiry date we all get them.

You can fill in the online application of readiness form online now or after the medical once you have a date and print the confirmation page. You need that for the interview.

Please also update your time line and fill in your noa2, it's useful to give you a better time line so others can help you and see exactly where you are.

Once your fiancé has recieved "packet 3" he can book the medical because he will then have the new case number needed to book the medical. Don't forget he will need vaccination records of up to date vaccinations incase he needs or needed more. Police certificates from anywhere outside the U.S. he has lived for 6+ months, two passport photographs dated within the last 6 months and payment!

Then once the medical is done it will be transferred to the embassy where you then will need two U.S. sized passport photographs, affidavit of support, proof of on going relationship, visa payment, police certificates, and a smile!

You will then get a letter of your interview date unless you have to book it yourself. I forgot to check what country you are from and I'm typing on my phone.
