hmmm, I am just wondering, but, it seems that the husbands have an aversion to filling out the forms, mine included . We were married in July and still haven't got our I-130 submitted yet :o Thursday night we will be completing the forms via phone call. My portion is complete, so it's his portion of the forms we will be completing.........

I am very anxious to get this ball rolling so that I can be with my husband!! Then, I get overwhelmed by everything that I once knew that had to be done but know I have forgotten because so much time has elapsed. Oy!!

I hear ya! My husband is on the road for his job ALL the time, so I forgive him. It was sort of understood that I would do the paperwork. He provides the funds, so I can't complain too much. He even bought me a new laptop to do all the work on.

I made list after list after list. I read nearly every guide that could possibly pertain to me, and then I started gathering documents. Do NOT be shy about asking the folks here on VJ for advise. There is a world of knowledge and experience here! As overwhelming as this process can be, the guides and forums on here, and the folks just like us going through the process have made it a whole lot easier. I don't know how far along in the process I would be if I hadn't stumbled into this community :star: !

mmhmmm, exactly!! Shouldn't be a crisis for me but somehow makes me feel that way :S

And Dualie, yes, I agree, this forum is a huge blessing! and such great people here too.

I keep going over, reading, re-reading, adding links, etc., etc., I just want to get this all done and over with because I get my knickers tied in a knot over the things that have to be done. Oy!!

I checked out the U Pak mover website and the website told me I wasn't moving "far enough" - that was hilarious. From Regina, Saskatchewan to California isn't far enough. Sheesh!! :S

Petitioner, since international mail is iffy at best. It shouldn't be an issue from the US to Canada though. Other countries like mine, you don't want to trust the mail.

DS-261. Is it best to have the petitioner or the beneficiary as the "agent"?

This does not constitute legal advice.

It's easier to have the petitioner as the agent. You can still do everything. Heck I even paid the fees, using our joint US account of course. Lol. But all you need is two checks!
