Ok went to the bank yesterday to request the frigging letter, which I requested over a month ago, and had gotten a letter in the mail saying that I had to go to the bank to have it processed, Well anyways, they told me yesterday that it would be processed within 3 days, so i go in today asking if could be processed sooner, since I have bills to pay, and would like it to show the larger amount. Well the guy at the bank calls the 1-800 number, they tell him it will take at least 5 days to process, and by then the ballance will be too low to do any good for my wifes interview..If im paying the 30 bucks for the damn letter about MY account, why cant they do something????

And they said that I have to come back in with a letter stating the date of the interview, nevermind that this is required before the interview.......and I have not gotten a date yet..

That is just unbelievable. We have needed at least 4 bank letters so far (1 each for my K-1 and AOS, and 1 each for my daughter's K-2 and AOS) and have had no problems whatsoever getting them while we waited.

I guess I should be thankful that we didn't have that hassle to deal with, but I just assumed there shouldn't be any hassle. We are, after all, CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck.

Hey I had the very exact situation This is what you should do. Go to one of the main branches as I had to do. Don't go to one of the tellers they don't know anything, go to one of the offices and they can type the request right then with the amount that you have in there right then. It would take about three days but tell them you want them to fax the letter to the bank and it will take no more than two. And the fax letter will be just as official as the one they will mail you. Understand the bank of America does this on a daily basis they have their own INS dept Good Luck.......Wayne

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

So after that frustrating ordeal, I went to another BofA branch, an older bank, with less flaire. The bank manager put a stamp on printouts of my account, said its the most official stamp they have to use(Use it for investments or something) and then pretty much gave me a guarantee that it would post with the ballance for the day. Thank heavens. I think part of the reason he was so helpful, is that he was not originally from the US either, so has more of an understanding for the process. The other branch could have cared less if I sink or swim, and their the ones I do all of my banking with on a daily basis, and im in there at least 4 times a week making deposits, so they do know me. I will be switching branches.

So after all of that my wife sent Montreal an e-mail telling them of our problem, and they said the computer printouts would be ok with the stamp. So as a last resort get a back up like that if you can.

Welll, I got mine done in few minutes.

I went to those mini branches ( one of those in Dominick's) few days ago. I requested for Bank Letter and the Senior Banker typed one for me in few minutes.

I know in the past some of the VJ members paid about $10 bucks and waited at lest 2 - 3 weeks just to get the bank letter.
