Congratulations!!!! I can only imagine how stressful it was!!! What did your fiancee write on her tourist visa application, that somebody else was inviting her? Did she apply at the same consulate for her tourist visa and K1? We also met online on out church dating website and I also applied for a tourist visa, and they gave it to me. I wrote that my church associate was inviting me (which was true) and put his address and name, and now he is my fiance and I read your story and started worrying. Do you think it helped that you were here with her?

I read your post. I'm relieved and glad for both of you. I'm getting more and more nervous now that our interview date was given to us and time is passing by.

Was your interview in English? Did they mind that you did most of the talking?

I've read from a few couples (who were all approved) that they have had problems because the Brazilian had applied for a visa previously.

I hope we don't have problems . Eliton never even thought of travelling to the U.S. - I hope that helps us.

Woah..... now I might have to do the same thing. I tried to get a visitor visa after we got engaged and my fiance was transferred back to USA. At that time I didn't put on the DS156 that i had a fiance, but a friend. But during the interview, I did tell the consular that I wanted to see my fiance, but since we had nothing to prove that we were engaged (no parties, pictures, no ring...he just asked me to marry him and i said yes) I thought the embassy wouldn't think that we were really engaged...... Man, now I'm terrified. What if I won't get as lucky as you? doh..... but CONGRATS.
