I made a cute little photo album which Moh had to FORCE them to look at. Plus I gathered all kinds of emails and ####### which they didn't bother looking at. They didn't even ask for the I134 in the packet 3 but I sent it anyways.

Yeah the lady he interviewed with only looked at one of the photos we gave her.

If I am recalling correctly, Cairo requires it. Now whether they actually look at it or not....... who knows. We all know I am their biggest fan.

LOL are you sure? I thought Moh was their biggest fan.

They may require it but they certaintly didn't request it in our packet 3. You'd think they'd ask for it if they want it. Of course this is Cairo we're talkin about.

Any news yet?

No he hasn't received his packet 3 yet, just sort of collecting my thoughts for this next stage. Hell NVC doesn't even have our file yet! But thanks so much all for the info.

Moody did you have to translate any of your fiance's documents into English like the birth certificate or police report?

THanks

Yes, my husband had his bc, military record, marriage cert., and police record translated. It is required. The packet 3 will give detailed instructions about what he will need.

Just to give you a time frame...if NVC has your case today he would get his packet in about 3 weeks or so. Once he returns the packet 3 he would get his packet 4 (interview date) in about 6 weeks.

so I got a question for you... I am flying there and trying to have all my info together to give him.. I have been approved but have not gotten word that the NVC has the papers.. Do you think I should have him go ahead and get his police report (only valid for 3 months)?? I dont want a DAY TO PASS from when he gets the packet 3.. til when he mails it back

Meh, DH got his packet 3 in the middle of May. I went in the middle of June, brought all the stuff and we mailed it off together. Cairo still f-ed it up.

IMHO it's better to take your time and do things right, rather than rush through it and accidentally send expired stuff or something.

But then, I guess I've always been rather patient and laid back about the whole thing. We had a long distance relationship for 3 and a half years before we applied for a visa. A few more months were just a drop in the bucket *shrugs*

It was awhile back, but if I remember correctly, it took about a month from the time of our approval before the file finally made it's way to Cairo, and then another 2 weeks because TNT (the egyptian courier service) couldn't find his mail box.
