"There is no record of your case number."

- John

Diana, have you two tried emailing NVC? We didn't have any luck calling as they kept saying "No record as of yet" so I decided to bug them with daily email inquiry... It took a week for them to reply but it was a relief to know that they finally sent our case to our consulate here in Manila. Just make sure to put your WAC on the subject line and include your DOB if ever you will write them.

@Karin and Otto,

I bet you guys are getting excited every day!:dance::dance: Friday the 13th huh???

Ok...so...how about this...? I'll be Lotto Otto for the day.. I'll donate $1.00US (big spender) to the "Lets Retire" cause...

Tonights Mega Million Drawing (Texas Lotto) is estimated at $12,000,000. (Takes 5 Numbers between 1 and 56, and 1 number between 1 and 46).

Equal split to those contributing the first 5 then final 1 numbers...if we win...anyone want in? just pick a number and post it today (quicker the better so I have time to play them)...I wont pick a number - so more can play (woo hoo..all 7 of us)..

Or, can just shake your head and say..."he's nuts"...

Will post the combined numbers and participants here so theres not sneaking off to the bahamas... ;)

b721bc3e.gif

I'm in. I choose number 8 :D

Phew...I thought I screwed that post up.. it disappeared on me.. ok..Next 4 of 1-56 numbers..

damn too bad I missed it... :(

Put me on the list for the next time and I choose number 27 :)

yayyyyy

Thanks Lotto Otto ;)

Did you use the automated system to ask for your case number or did you talk to a person, when they said: no records yet?

Because we used the automated system and we talked to a person and both said no records. :(

How long did it take for you to get an answer from NVC by email?

I talked to a live person and he said "no record" yet... We got approved 2/27 and then the last time I emailed NVC was 3/9... 3/14 they replied and gave me my case number and informed me that the case was forwarded to our consulate in Manila...

Try emailing them Diana, I'm sure they will reply to you since your approval date is 3/29 and it's almost 2 weeks since then...

Good luck!

Well, here's our update:

Called the State Dept., Yesterday I spoke with a lady who asked for our case number. When I gave the first 3 letters of our 'receipt number' she told me that was not the number they wanted. After apologizing for 'mistakenly' calling the wrong number, she agreed to check the NVC to see if they had indeed received our case. When I told her the approval date (3/29) she said that it usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.

This morning, I contact the NVC again and speak to an actual breathing person. She reconfirmed that they had not yet received our case from USCIS and stated that it usually takes 2 - 4 weeks, but can be up to 90 days.

At this point, I'm beginning to think our case is still sitting on our adjucators desk at CSC. I'm also beginning to think the person handling our case at CSC is either a) Heartless, B) Slow, c) Mean or d) All of the Above.

Well, at least we had a few seconds of happiness when we received the NOA2.

:( I guess they wouldn't tell you that if it wasn't true, but damn.

I don't know what to think - I mean, we know that VJers experiences with service center waiting times are NOT all the same -- perhaps its the same with the wait time between the service center and NVC?

I'm still kinda confident that we'll have good news from them by the end of this week. Though, I think we're both beginning to give up on the hope that she'll be here by her birthday.

She better be here for the Joss Stone concert, though.

I chose d) All of the above... that sucks big time!

Why in the world would a case be held up at USCIS when they've given the approval already? Isn't it supposed to be forwarded to NVC in less than a week?

Let's just hope that you two will hear some good news before the week ends... I cannot imagine how hard it is for both of you...

Hey all,

I hope everyone is great. To John&Diana: my approval date was 03/28 and I was told the same thing by NVC when I called. They haven't received my case yet and it can take 2-4 wks or up to 90 days for them to receive it. I asked the NVC rep if the approvals were forwarded to them electronically or by mail. They said by mail. *sigh*

The waiting is soooo hard. I haven't seen my fiance since 12/14/06. I wanted to visit him in May, but I think it would be better if I was present for his interview (whenever that is), to show the consulate that we're serious.

09/11/06 (09/12 GMT): Introduced.

12/08-12/14/06: Had a wonderful time visiting Kessington in Senegal.

12/11/06: We became engaged!!!

12/26/06: Mailed I-129F to USCIS TSC. Petition forwarded to CSC.

01/08/07: Receipt date per USCIS.

01/09/07: Check cashed.

01/10/07: Touched.

01/16?/07: Received NOA1 in the mail.

02/20/07: Finally a second touch.

02/21/07: Touched two days in a row!

03/28/07: Touched.

03/29/07: Received an e-mail that USCIS mailed our approval notice on 03/28/07!!

03/31/07: Received NOA2 in the mail.

04/16/07: NVC received approved petition. (Finally!)

04/18/07: Case transferred to embassy in Senegal, according to NVC.

04/21/07: Received snail mail notice from NVC dated 04/19/07 that they recently received our

petition & it would be forwarded w/in a week.

04/24/07: Embassy received approved petition. Signed for by Luc Badiane.

04/25/07: Received e-mail from embassy, in reply to my e-mail from 04/20, stating they've

received our petition & have attached instructions & forms necessary for the interview.

04/26/07: Embassy hadn't contacted my fiance, so I forwarded the e-mail I received from them to him.

06/21/07: INTERVIEW --embassy "confirming my fiance's eligibility for a visa" ???

10/16/07: 2ND INTERVIEW(Please let his visa be granted this time Lord). APPROVED!!!

yeah I hate to be stuck in Nirvana.....sometimes I don't think, that they know how this treatment feels. :(

And I totally can't stand this: it may also take up to 90 days *grrrrrr*

John said, that this is their 'safe number', it just get's annoying, when everytime you call, you hear that damn BS!

Sorry  but as always, I am just frustrated as hell :(

Yes, sending good vibes to Karin, but I am sure, that she is done by now and totally excited and happy!!!

As far as it comes to us...... :(

Nope, no luck at all. Yesterday we figured, that we didn't have any luck so far. The whole process was shitty. We just can pray, that it will get better!!!
