Hey Everyone..haven't posted in the December thread for a few..been kind of holding our breath... But our file/case/magic-folder has left (this past Friday) on its journey to Frankfurt..hopefully they won't hold on to it too long before sending out the packet...

Guess its Packet 3 we're waiting on now.. Have NVC Case # now, so Karin will arrange doctor's visit..

Karolina - Poor Paul..5 shots..ouch.. now he's Paul-the-pin-cushion... :crying:

John & Diana...news today? hmmmmm...? I know..I know.. we'll hear the scream from here when it happens.. Hang in there...

Hehe, yep poor Paul :(

Yay for your case being on its way to NVC! Frankfurt seems to be really fast. They received our file on March 8th and Paul received packet 3 on March 10th. So that was super fast. So you should be getting your Packet 3 any day now :D

Good luck!!!

Hey Everyone!

Glad to hear you are starting to get your Packet 3s! As for us...I have no idea if mine has even left the NVC yet. I keep trying to contact London via email as their phone services cost a ton of money, but they haven't been replying. I know I can call the NVC but I think I'll wait just a couple more days. I know that the NVC has received our petition, but I don't know if they have sent it to London. Most of the other London people seem to waited about 18 days from NOA2 to receiving packet 3...and it's been 22 days for us. I know that's not too much longer, but maybe it is about time for me to call!

Good Luck to everyone!!

Marina

Sooo...good news, we received Packet 4 :D

Not really bad news, but kind of disappointing, Paul's interview isn't until May 4th. We were hoping he would be home in April. Also, on the appointment letter they wrote "preference category: K1 Czech" Paul was born in Czech, but is a German citizen. I don't know if this means they think he is a Czech citizen. And, I don't know if this "preference" means that we get a later interview date because they think he isn't a German citizen or if it really has nothing do with it. He has written his nationality as being German on every form and sent a copy of his German passport... He tried to call the consulate today, but the main number is closed on Thurs. And the 1.9 euro a minute info line knew nothing. He'll call the main line again tomorrow.

They also gave him a second medical exam appointment date..which I'm assuming he can ignore since he had his medical exam on Monday.

He is a little frustrated with it all. He told me today that if he didn't love me so much then he would have given up on all this a long time ago. I'm glad he loves me so much :D

And, hey, at least we have packet 4 AND an interview date... :D So, I'll have him home in at least 7 weeks. Woohoo, I can't wait.

Hey Guys... It's moving forward for ya..

I wouldn't put too much worry into the "Preference" statements.. could just be an internal thing based on birth certificat or that nature.

The 'extra' medical appointment can be ignored - they just make it in case you haven't already (it's really close to the interview date isn't it?)..

The interview date..hmm.. maybe they're just booked a bit - plus there is Easter vacation coming soon - that could play a part (I know, we don't have it here, but in Germany it's kind of a school holiday/spring-break).

I'll post what Karin's packet 4 says (Guessing Preference: K1 Visa German) or something to that nature..

Yeah, I'm not too too worried about it, but it is just the word "preference" makes me think that some get put ahead of others. I imagine though that the preference (if any) applies more to the visa type than the Country. As in maybe the K1 visa gets preference over another kind of visa or vice versa. But we still want to make sure that they have his citizenship recorded correctly.

You are absolutely right about the Easter holidays, I didn't think about that. I can easily imagine that would push back the interview dates somewhat. I had looked on the timeline and added up all of the 2006 K1 visas from Frankfurt and found an average of about 20 days between packet 4 and interview. We are looking at 44 days... but you know in the long run, it is just a couple of weeks. We've gone this far, so we can handle a couple more weeks.

Congrats on you and Karin getting the packet 3!!! Frankfurt really is quick on the packets, so I'm sure once you get everything sent off you'll be getting packet 4 and her interview date quickly too :D

:)

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to tell you that DAVE AND I GOT OUR PACKET 3 FROM LONDON!

Yay!

We just have to fill in all the forms and check off that we have all of the documents so that we can send it back to the consulate as soon as possible. Probably Tuesday or Wednesday. We do not have all of the documents we need yet (like the police certs...which we have applied for but have not yet gotten). But, I figure we should just assume that we WILL get them before the interview. Better to do that then wait to get them and then send in Packet 3, right???

Also, to update. Dave and I did send a formal appeal to Scotland Yard for them to remove the 45 pound fee they gave us for not coming to the appointment. They denied our formal appeal. So, I called them up and spoke to the manager at the fingerprint office at Scotland Yard. I argued with her on the phone for about 10 minutes insisting that I was not told about the fee when I booked the appointment. She continued to insist that her employees fill in a check list as they are on the phone and that the 'told customer about cancellation fee' box was ticked on my form. So, I continued to argue and insist and she finally took away the fee! So yay!

To summerise: Dave writes a formal appeal to Scotland Yard and loses, I call up and argue with them for 10 minutes and win!
