Approved!!! So here is my advice that I took and will pass it on...if the site shows touched and you hear nothing..call and inquire about the RFE you received. (a little white lying required) They asked me what RFE? Your case was approved 4 days ago. Have to tell Tracy this advice..she might find something out that way.

Danke Otto!!!

I wanted to NOT check USCIS this morning, but I couldn't resist....still nothing!

We will try to be as patient as possible for the next 2 weeks!

But as you were able to read, my fiance aka The king of patience...failed on it too!

Let's wait and see!

Diana,

Maybe your case will be like what happened to patiently_waiting? She kept checking at USCIS but no luck but when she called, she found out that they got approved already. USCIS website sucks sometimes...

I really hope you'll get your NOA2 within this week... Clock is ticking...

Good luck sis!

Any news from NVC about your case yet? I email them everyday ever since we got the NOA2 and they replied once informing me that they got our case and working on it. I hope one more week and they'll have it forwarded here in Manila and we'll have the new case number for us...

Just found out that NVC sent our file to the Embassy in Frankfurt yesterday! :D :D :D:dance: Everyone at my office thinks I am crazy, jumping up and down and a big goofy grin on my face. :D So, our case was at NVC only 4 days before they shipped it on (and that included a weekend)

Good luck to everyone else! And Mae, I would try contacting them again today, your file might be on the way to Manila too!!!

Well I read your other post, where you say, that he was born in Chzech, which means, that he probably has none.

If that's the case he should go to the doctor and get them re-done ASAP...because it takes some time in between. Meaning you can't just get all those shots at a time, plus there is a waiting time after the shots, for him to get the visa.

Are there no records of vaccinations in Chzech?? If yes, then he should go to a doctor, so he can paste it into the international vaccination history!!!

But if his shots are older than 10 years, he needs to get them re-done anyways. At least the requiered ones.

Thanks Diana, now, i'm getting worried. I am such the planner, and he is NOT. (men...sigh...) :P So, he was like "where do i get that?" I've never lived permanently in Germany, so I of course had no idea. He called his mom who still lives in Czech, and she is trying to see if she can find some of the records. He is a naturalized German citizen now. Wouldn't he have needed proof of his vaccinations for Germany? Would his family doctor in the German town where he grew up have those records? Which are the required vaccines? And what is the "waiting" time after the shot before he can get the visa??? I don't like that word "waiting". :(

Okay, I'm sort of freaking out. Is this going to be a big deal?

Thanks,

Karoline

Hey guys!

I'm not sure if this is 100% true as I have not read any official things about this, BUT a lot of people on the other forum (the one about consular stuff) have said that you don't need your vaccines for your medical. You have to have all of the vaccines done by the time you apply for AOS, but you shouldn't need them for the medical at all. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good idea to get them before the medical, but supposedly you don't need them. I think it was Yadrok that said this (maybe, or maybe I'm mistaken)...

Anyway, it was definitely one of the members that always seems to know what they are talking about and have answers! ;)

If you don't need the vaccines until AOS, you definitely have enough time. Although, I'd say you have enough time anyway. I know the Hep B shots can take a while to get, but in the UK if you are over the age of 19 you aren't required to get that shot at all (so it might be the same in Germany). Also, I think that if you can show them you are in the process of having these shots done, that's okay too. Cause, for instance, the Hep B shots are 3 seperate shots that need to be spaced out by like 3 months or something.

Again, only for the UK, but on the embassy info area you can find your consulate and see a list of all the shots required. There are only 4-5 of them for the UK, so maybe it wont be that bad! Good Luck!

And on a side note...so, it took your petition 8 days to get from CSC to the NVC? That means mine has about one day left! I emailed yesterday, but maybe I should email again today. If I haven't heard anything by Friday I'll call. I'd call tomorrow but since I live in the UK it costs a lot to call so I don't want to call only to hear nothing! Hopefully mine will get there soon!

We just applied for our police checks though (for the UK and Australia) and the UK one takes maximum 40 days (so at latest April 14th) and the Australian one takes like 3 weeks after they receive it. We can't mail it for about 1.5 weeks so that's about a month from now. So this sucks! We might have to hold onto our Packet 3 longer than we want. You do have to have the police checks to send back with Packet 3 correct? Or do you just need them for the interview?

Anyway, I've totally deviated from the original post topic! Later!

Oh, I hope you're right about the vaccines. I really did kinda freak out for a sec. I was so excited that everything was going so smoothly, and then I saw this as a complication and nearly hyperventilated :P Paul doesn't seem to be worried about it. He has the contact info for one of the panel physicians which is closest to him (where he will more than likely have his medical exam), so he will call him tomorrow and find out his recommendation. Hopefully, I'm worrying for nothing, and he'll get it all worked out.

On the other topic, NVC did receive my file from CSC in 8 days (but there was a weekend in between there so yours could have happened more quickly. And they received it last friday and sent it to Frankfurt yesterday (tuesday), so only a couple of business days to process it. I'm pretty impressed with how quickly it all happened. I emailed NVC yesterday and didn't hear back so called today (i'm pretty impatient, but from what I've heard they DO answer the emails after a couple of days) I was on hold for quite some time, and a couple of times after being on hold for some minutes they indicated that the lines were too busy and I should call again later. So I understand your hesitation in calling from the UK & it being expensive. But once I got to a representative they were very helpful and immediately told me that they had shipped my case yesterday. You could possibly have somebody in the states that you trust call. They have asked me the same questions each time: case/receipt number, fiance's name and date of birth & to verify my phone number.

For the police records, I think you don't have to send them in with Packet 3 but only bring to the interview, but I'm not 100% sure, so somebody more knowledgeable should answer.

Thanks and Good luck!!!
