I think you're right Diane the closer you get to the goal the longer the days become. :clock:

Mauricio had his medical today! My poor baby, he hates needles & he had to get 3 shots and of course they drew blood, he said his palms were sweating really bad. I still don't understand how he was able to get a tatoo being so afraid of needles. Anyway, he picks up his birth certificate at 4pm and he goes back at 4:30pm for the results of the medical. Then he has everything to fax back to the embassy!!!:dance::dance:

Side note - I we to get my wedding dress altered this afternoon! The lady thinks she can let it out, I bought it at a resale shop & it's a little snug

Hey Everyone!

Long time no see!!! I know I have been gone for about 3 weeks now, but I'm back and our interview is one week from today!

First off,

CONGRATULATIONS KAROLINE AND PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's so great guys and I'm so happy for you! Only 4 more days and you'll be together!! yay!!!!!

Anyway, I suppose that's about all for now.

Dave and I are scrambling to get all of our documents together for the interview. I know, I know, we shouldn't have waited this long! But, we both work so much and then my mom was here and we got distracted!

Oh well, I'm sure we'll have everything ready in time! Just think, this time next week the interview will be over! That's really exciting, but at this point really scary too since we don't have all of the docs ready!

Dave is going to the bank today to get all of the letters we need from them and I'm sitting at home writing all sorts of statements and such.

Oh well, this part is almost over!!

Good luck to everyone! and Happy Packing to Paul!

Hey Marina!!

I had been wondering how you guys were doing. :) Thanks so much!!! We are soooooo excited. It still seems so surreal to both of us that he'll be home forever and we'll never have to say goodbye again. Wow. I wonder how long it will take before that feels truly real. :P

That is so great that you have your interview in a week! :D I wouldn't feel bad about not having all of the documents together yet, just so long as you know you'll be able to get it all together by the interview. In fact, I think it is kind of nice to have something to keep you busy and your mind occupied hte week before the interview. I was personally going crazy  as most of the people who read this thread can attest to ;) So when are you and Dave flying back to the states? I'm so glad everything is working out for your wedding date!

Have fun scrambling for those docs ;) And good luck to everybody!!!

Hello guys! It's been a long time since I last posted here in our little community. I've been on vacation because my dad's rushed to the hospital and had to go down to his place to see about things. I just got back to spend some time with my paperwork but will go back there next week to take care of him.

@ Diana,

Clock is ticking... days are counting! Hang in there gurl and you'll be with John before you know it.

@ Karoline and Paul,

Congratulations on your visa approval. I'M JEALOUS TOO! lol

@ Marina and Dave,

Long time no hear from you guys! Welcome back!

In other news, I got my first day physical exam done today and hopefully, everything went fine. I will have to come back in that clinic on Tuesday for the result and vaccinations. Ewwwwwwwwww! I hate needles!!!

Good luck all!

*hugs*

Thanks, Mae!

I hope your dad will be okay. Hang in there! My dad is going through some health problems right now too, so I know how hard it can be on top of all the stress from the visa process. Hugs, girl!

Hello all,

I hope everyone is well! We're doing pretty good. Kessington's still gathering his documents for the interview. The embassy in Senegal is slightly different -there's no "packet 3" or "4". The fiance receives the instructions and forms in one packet. He is to gather all the required documents, then call the embassy to schedule the interview. He's already applied for his Senegal police report, it should be done today (hopefully). He's waiting to receive the fingerprint form from Nigeria so that report can be processed. He'll probably get the medical done this week.

Eli, congratulations on the interview date!! Karoline, congratulations on Paul coming home today!! Mae, nice to hear from you. I hope your father gets well soon.

Is anyone besides me tired of questions like "How are things going?", "When is your fiance(e) coming?".:hehe:

09/11/06 (09/12 GMT): Introduced.

12/08-12/14/06: Had a wonderful time visiting Kessington in Senegal.

12/11/06: We became engaged!!!

12/26/06: Mailed I-129F to USCIS TSC. Petition forwarded to CSC.

01/08/07: Receipt date per USCIS.

01/09/07: Check cashed.

01/10/07: Touched.

01/16?/07: Received NOA1 in the mail.

02/20/07: Finally a second touch.

02/21/07: Touched two days in a row!

03/28/07: Touched.

03/29/07: Received an e-mail that USCIS mailed our approval notice on 03/28/07!!

03/31/07: Received NOA2 in the mail.

04/16/07: NVC received approved petition. (Finally!)

04/18/07: Case transferred to embassy in Senegal, according to NVC.

04/21/07: Received snail mail notice from NVC dated 04/19/07 that they recently received our

petition & it would be forwarded w/in a week.

04/24/07: Embassy received approved petition. Signed for by Luc Badiane.

04/25/07: Received e-mail from embassy, in reply to my e-mail from 04/20, stating they've

received our petition & have attached instructions & forms necessary for the interview.

04/26/07: Embassy hadn't contacted my fiance, so I forwarded the e-mail I received from them to him.

06/21/07: INTERVIEW --embassy "confirming my fiance's eligibility for a visa" ???

10/16/07: 2ND INTERVIEW(Please let his visa be granted this time Lord). APPROVED!!!

Yay! Paul is coming home today!! That's so exciting!

Dave and I are still working on all of our documents. One question though, Dave is self-sponsoring himself in London. We do have the I-134 from my mom in case he does get denied with his own funds though. However, if he does get denied with his own funds do I have to fill out an I-134 as well as my mom? Even though in that case my mom would then be the sponsor...not me???

Just curious!

Hope everyone is well! I'm sure that Karoline and Paul are!

@Karoline Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl....soooooo damn happy for you!!!!!

That is so great to know, that you'll be with your baby finally forever!! That's the best feeling in the world, isn't it??

Just 23 more days and I will be with John again and then I will be the happiest, happiest, happiest person on earth!!!!

And just 15 more days until the interview...gosh...now I realize how time is flying by......:D:D:D:D

@Marina I don't know about sponsoring himself...is that even possible?? I kinda think that he will need a sponsor in the states, that shows, that he will not become a public charge! So as far as I know you'll need the I-134 from your mother, no matter what! I think he just can sponsor himself, if he doesn't plan on immigrating, just if he would stay for a limited time.

Please make sure again, so that if I am right, you'll still have enough time to send him your mom's I-134!!!

And it is enough, if you have one sponsor (your mom) if she makes enough money!! You want to check the poverty guidline for your area and then see, if it is enough, if yes, then you don't have to fill out the I-134!
