rickeiz.,.,.,.IT WOULD be nice if you filled in your timeline, so other members can see ""what you are talking about!!!!!"""

As for NVC.,.,.,.,I would like to know what happened to the days like early 2013, and NVC received out case one day, the same day I called and was given our number, and said it would leave on the next day! Just view my timeline.,.,.it happened.,., so can anyone tell me what has changed so much.,.,.,.from 1-2 days in Jan. 2013, to at least 60 business days? I would just like to know why, people are being tortured like this.,.,.,.,.

As in early 2013.,.,.,it was 1-2 days????!!!!

The primary reason, as I understand it. is that USCIS finally got around to adjudicating their HUGE backlog, where they can take 5-6 months to review papers compared to 60 days. With the increased adjudications coming in from USCIS, NVC's workload increased dramatically -- without much lead time to train up additional personnel, so perhaps it will get better if they actually get more people or adjust to the suddenly increased workload. Hope so for all of those who are waiting!

I think in reality it may be 60 days, not business days. but when you call NVC, the operator may quote business days. I'm sure they're better off telling people its later than sooner, so the people's expectations are not higher.

For our situation, the IV paperwork is complete. A phone call to NVC said it was done on 10/16, which is exactly 2 months since they received it (not business days, just 2 months). I got official email notice today 10/23 that its going to the consulate now. It took about 45 business days to complete, instead of the expected 60 days, which would have meant completion in early to mid November.

So, my general timeline: For CR1 I130, from Mexico, I Submitted to USCIS 1st of September 2013, USCIS approval mid-April 2014. NVC starts process on 5/7/14. And with pretty quick responses to payments or next steps to mail items (less than a week for sure on my behalf to get things done for each step), i finished with NVC as of 10/23/14.

So in general, USCIS took 9 months, NVC about 6 months, and I'm assuming consulate will be about 1-2 months. 17 months in total more or less.
