I would really dress up for this. I mean after all it is an interview and impressions do count. I know, i will be wearing a tie and a sport coat or a suite for my interview whenever that day comes

We went smart casual..nothing is specified on it. There was a lot of people waiting when we went for ours and everybody seemed to be smart/casual...Good luck

We dressed nicely but not so "elegant", I noticed when we got our interview that there were couples wearing jeans, so actually there is not a rule for it, but I would suggest to be just nice without being too much elegant.

My understanding is that there's the possibility they'll interview you separately, but that generally, couples are interviewed together.

I have read accounts of iterviews together and separate. So apparently it is at the discretion of the interviewer.

We dressed up, some people looked terrible there tho made me wonder what they were thinking. We were interviewed together and then seperately. But like someone said i think it all depends on the officer.

If I were an immigration officer I would expect the persson I were interviewing to take things seriously and show up looking like they gave a damn. If you can't be bothered to look like you care you will be harder to convince them that you really want a to be there. Smart (not a suit but definitely a shirt and tie). Just my two cents worth but why take a risk of making a bad impression when it's the easiest thing in the world to look smart for one day - pretend it's a job interview.

I honestly don't think they care what you're wearing, as long as your paperwork is in order and you're not trying to get a green card with a sham marriage.

Usual rules apply as for any close quarters environment however, have a shower before you go, and not too much cologne or perfume.

I really don't think they care if you dye your hair purple though. Its the relationship they're looking at, not your fashion sense.

We both wore a sweater, nice jeans and shoes/boots not sneakers. Noone in the room was dressed formal. Either business casual or c'casual but smart'.
