Hello! Where are you guys in the process? Filling out DS160 doesn't take very long if you have all the information at hand. I filled it out after we got NOA2 and our case number from the NVC.

Note: Please fill in your timeline to keep track of your progress and for reference for future members :)

Philippians 4: 6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

That's right. She should fill in the DS-160 after you've got your case number from NVC and your file has been sent to your embassy. The completed DS-160 should be submitted to the embassy online before she goes for the interview. It doesn't take long to fill out the DS-160 online. Also she can save each section online and come back to it later if she can't complete it in one sitting (e.g. she needs to stop to go get some documentation). Good luck!

The DS-160 form asks you for the NVC number. So you do need that before filling it out. Call NVC after you got your NOA2 and get the case number from them if you haven't already done that. Go online and fill it out. You can or someone else can fill the DS-160 out for your fiance but technically your fiance has to digitally sign it at the end of the form. Also once you filed out the form don't forget to schedule a medical appointment.

Here is an example DS-160 (Please copy and paste the link because directly clicking on it doesn't always work):

She does not have a computer at this time, so she will work with our interpreter on the DS-160.

Thank you for the link.

Another big question: I think she will need a couple of official documents from her oblast center. She lives in Mariupol' which is in the Donetsk Oblast. Is she expected to travel to Donetsk to get these documents???

That won't happen...

Right, i red that she does not have a computer. Many people in Ukraine don't, i am from there so i know how it is but that is the procedure so l am just mentioning that.

I doubt it. You are thinking of the police certificate which she can apply for in the city where she lives. The document does go thru the oblasty center. So in our oblasty you can apply either in our town or go to the oblasty center. Its up to you. It takes a month to get a police certificate and its valid for a year so keep that in mind.

I'll talk with her- and recommend applying for the police report in Mariupol rather than Donetsk. Thanks... I wonder if Donetsk is able to do this kind of processing at this time? I'll find out.

I've done a K1 with her before, in 2006. First step is her Ukrainian divorce. Soon!

About the case number they ask for, it says to put the number that USCIS assigned you, the petition number. I put my Texas Service Center number...

So you don't really need to wait until NVC has assigned you a case number.

There you go, I did not know that. Thank you!
