Hi folks!, just wanna ask how long usually the greencard and ssn to arrive? I arrived here in the US last Oct. 28, 2015 and until now both my GC and ssn didn't arrive yet. Should I start calling USCIS one of these days?, thanks!

You may be asking in the wrong forum -- this is for removing conditions on permanent residency after 2 years. Sounds as though you entered on a CR-1/IR-1 visa?

Regardless, you can always call USCIS and ask what's going on. You should have received an I-551 stamp in your passport, which serves as a temporary Green Card in the interim.

Hello Everyone -

It's been over a year that my I-751 waiver is pending. VSC stated that they sent my file to OKC local office back in mid sept 2014. I made infopass at the local office to get the status but front desk lady told me that my file is here and my green card is good until Jan2016 and come back in two months for stamping (already know all this). She also mentioned that it may take another 6months for any update. But my lawyer told me after speaking to IO that my file was accidentally sent to California and OKC local office is trying to get my file back. So now I am getting two different updates. I don't know which one is right or wrong.

Has anyone experienced this problem before or what should I do to expedite this? How long does local office take to transfer a file from one field office to other? Appreciate any advise.

Hey Everyone!

So as I said before I had an interview in October 2015, so I had to reschedule it because my lawyer said its a short notice and then it has been rescheduled again because he has an eye exam on the same date I have my interview .. which is Dec 2nd...

So my questions are !

1-I have an expired foreign passport, can the immigration stamp it for me ? because my license will expire 3 days after and I won't be able to work.

2- Will the 2 rescheduling affect my chances in getting the 2nd green card?

I don't think they will stamp it, since you cannot travel with an expired passport, but if they somehow forget to look at the date you might be able to slip through:)

Also, the rescheduling will not delay your GC, especially since it has already been delayed so long, the other thing that can delay your GC is the fact that the IO might drag the decision before you receive an answer. In addition, I think you need a new lawyer, he should put customers with interviews as priority instead of rescheduling two interviews in a row, I will be pissed.

Hey Plam,

I am going to applying in the next couple of weeks for citizenship but this time I got an attorney since I am working for a Canadian company based in Toronto and have had to do several trips back and forth. The file is with the lawyer right now for review.

Well, i am a Jan filer. So is my case still pending. Go and do your biometrics early. just walk in.

Maybe i should also expect another biometrics notice.

A friend's Nov. case is still pending, too. He and his wife replied to an RFE in June. Then nothing since then. They did a request with USCIS in Oct. and got a standard form letter saying its still pending. His 1 year extension letter has expired.

So Neil81, you're not the only case still pending. Their's is in VT.

Can somebody help me plz i applied for 1-751 on November 2014 i've been waiting for a respond for 13 months now whenever i call they just say i should wait my extention is expired! What is exactly going on why does this takes so long ? By the way i sent the filed to verment they told me they re too slow but this is way too much! Plz help thank u!

Call the 1-800 number and ask them to submit a service request for you, I know they will since it has been so long ago when you filed.
