Got this email yesterday I m so frustrated with the time they are taking

On October 27, 2015, you contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to inquire about the status of your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

On October 20, 2015, the Mount Laurel Field Office received your file and Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence from the Vermont Service Center. The Mount Laurel Field Office is in the process of reviewing your petition to determine if an interview is necessary to adjudicate your case. If it is decided that an interview is necessary, we will schedule you for an interview on the next available appointment and mail the official appointment notice to the most recent address we have on file. If an interview is not necessary, we will notify you if any further information is needed, or when a decision has been made. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date for your petition.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

So sorry you are still waiting. It simply means that your case was transferred and now the local office will decide if they need to schedule an interview, if they decide you have provided enough evidence, they should just send you the approval letter. I know I say local office, but is Mount Laurel your local office, if that is the case, schedule an infopass appointment and ask them how long before they get to your case, since you filed one year ago.

Not sure why our timeline is blank. I know for sure that I had updated my info a while back.

So a quick update for everyone…

My card was supposedly sent out on July 9… It never arrived. I'm just finding out now that there was a tracking number. Upon looking it up, it shows that my card arrived at my local USPS office and is STILL "out for delivery".

I called USCIS to let them know that my card never arrived. I was told to call USPS and get more info from them. If they sent the package back to USCIS, I need them to write and sign a letter stating so. If they lost it, or if it got stolen or didn't make it to my mailbox for WHATEVER reason, I have to apply for a replacement card at a cost of $450 (from my bank account!!!)

After speaking to USPS, a case was file to find out why the package was still out for delivery after so many months… The local office manager called me back a few days later and left a message stating my package doesn't exist and it never arrived at the local office. Now suddenly when I look up the tracking number, it says it can't be found. I AM PISSED. The USPS head office is closed today, but I'll be calling them tomorrow to have them dig further into this and get me some sort of resolution.

Either way, looks like I'll be paying $450 out of pocket to apply for a replacement card… (for a card that never actually made it to my mailbox!)

I hope that everyone else has received their cards and are on their way to applying for citizenship.

Added the instructions back!

Hey all,

Quick update: I was able to get my passport stamped with I-551. It was a very brief and smooth process. The stamp is valid for one year.

I asked the officer about filing the N-400 (we become eligible very shortly--see timeline). I was advised to submit the same set of documents as we had for the RFE. This was unexpected, as I thought the N-400 doesn't require as extensive a package.

Happy to ask this over in the N-400 section of the forum, but any ideas? Is that really the case?

Didn't really see the point as we had sent in our RFE response less than three weeks earlier!

If Vermont is already lagging behind, it's unlikely that they'll respond to our RFE response so soon. We might get lucky, but typically it seems to take at least a few months--and it's not advisable to check with them until 60 days following the deadline (or so I think?).

Anyway, we plan on moving forward with our N-400 and filing that early in 2016. Hopefully it will keep things moving along.

Yes you really need to prove an ongoing marital relationship if you're planning on citizenship through marrige.

Right, but that's what we do via the removal of conditions process, isn't it? People don't seem to ordinarily send in nearly as much documentary evidence when filing the N-400. But maybe I'm wrong--we're only just beginning to research the specifics of this next step.

I think people tend to send all the relationship evidence they have again and updated.

Part of the reason I won't file until the 5 year mark at minumum, but for you, since VSC is so slow and it pushes your ROC through.
