I-751 November 2014 Filers

Finally home but it's bitter sweet as my good friend of 15+ years just left us for a permanent vacation away from this earth.

The journey has been long and tedious but the rewards are finally available. I watched from a distance others progress but opted out of posting my info AND i'll still leave it out as i'm just paranoid like that.

Filed: Right around Thanksgiving 2014
Bio: Shortly after the New Year 2015
Waiting............AND more Waiting..............

Approved: A few days after July 4th

I'm in the Atlanta area and used the infamous VSC and essentially gave up the constant checking of my application status on their website. Didn't use a lawyer on the I751 but i'll tip my hat to him for being straightforward with me from day one!

Life in the U.S is what you make it and as i mourn my dearly departed friend, take time out of your schedule to thank your God and don't take life for granted. So many of us get hang up on this one Doc but nothing changes much afterwards as some of us will or have already found out.

This is my first and last post here. Good luck to the rest of the filers and may God bless you ALL!

VSC is doing very good job at testing our patience :)

I am planning to travel overseas in December, in case VSC doesn't process (hope this isn't the case) the application by then is it safe to travel? The GC extension expiration date on NOA is late Feb, 2016. Did anyone travel overseas with NOA? I need to book the flight and have to gather as much information as possible before that.

Thanks

It is safe to travel with the extension notice and the expired GC, but if you want to back yourself up, schedule an infopass appt and get your passport stamped:)

Good luck, they honestly are testing our patience, but sooner or later will have to process all of us:)

Is the date of extension one year from the expiry of the greencard or 1 year from the NOA date?

It is one year from the GC expiry date!

Great...not at all

so, I went for my infopass appt and the officer was very nice, she said that our application is sitting on a shelf somewhere most likely forgotten and she submitted a request, we are supposed to hear back some time in early August. She said that hopefully this speeds things up. She couldnt give me any timeline, but just said to call if we dont hear anything back by mid August. I got my stamp and now I can go get a driver's license since I lost mine a few months back lol.

So, did the officer mention something as to what time frame they are processing right now?

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

Just to follow up. I traveled recently with my wife. She has an expired Green Card and we traveled with the 1 year extension notification. We didn't have any serious issues, however, we did cut a lot of flights close because check in and security took forever analysing the one year extension, and always seemed like they didn't know what the hell it was. They had to call others over and discuss. This happened multiple times. No issues at all when we returned, as Border Patrol are probably used to seeing these, but just leave yourself a little extra time. If you get the Info Pass stamp it may be different. We did not get one of those, but in the future I think we will.

Good Luck!

Does anybody know who I can contact with regards to this condition removal taking absolutely way too long. I don't really want to tread on toes, or do anything to jeopordize the process, but this is crazy. The amount of money we paid, and the paperwork that we all completed is huge. I really don't like to complain about things, I understand that sometimes their are bigger issues that cause setbacks, but they could at least send us something mentioning a delay in processing of these applications. I sure as hell did everything right from my end, spent countless nights researching and acquiring completely arbitrary documentation, and still I get treated like they're doing me a favor. It's really disheartening.

Contact your senator. This is what I did again (for the 3rd time).

So I contacted Schumer's office again today. Again they told me that they could not find me in their system so I finally got an email address and resent everything for the 3rd time. This is as frustrating as USCIS.

If they do nothing then I am contacting WGRZ News Buffalo. They do focus pieces on Holding People in Power accountable. They love getting in Schumer's face and want answers and will report on it.

Moe, i agree. This is a bit too much. The media needs to be contacted for them to expose this office and their slow functioning. This is pure discrimination based on geographical location. CSC folks approved in 4 months and we people keep sitting without a clue for months lossibly a year. It is just not fair

No she didn't, she just said cases like that are supposed to take 6 months and I am close to an year. She wanted to submit the request I didn't even ask for it. I have ZERO hope in any results of the service request rather than "your case is within normal processing times". It seemed like she typed out a bunch of stuff, but no clue what it was.
