This forum has been very quiet. Plam/Moemac/Sammyboy?????

So, VSC was hibernating in the winter, and it must be still winter there, because nobody seems to be awake from the hibernation LOL

That pretty much describes that nothing is happening there. They seem to only work on cases around the time they need to update their website and let the public know how far they are(between the 13-th and 15th of every month). In this case form Sept 29th, they will probably update to Oct 3rd LOL. Good thing we didn't plan on going for my sister's wedding in August, because I will still be waiting on a GC at that time LOL

I found this in the OCT 2014 ROC forum dated May 26th/15

"had an infopass appointment today to get my passport stamped because I was afraid to go out of the country with just the extension letter.

The immigration officer was very nice and she checked my case. She told me it will take at least 8-10 more weeks for VSC to start working on mid/late October cases. So my friends, we just have to sit down and KEEP WAITING. She also said some cases will be transfer to California."

Fingers crossed that we are next

My lawyer has strictly told me to keep off the forums. LOL. :)Yet, i am here.

I do not understand VSCs processes. There is one november filer who was approved in April. God knows what that is about.

Also, i believe we on this forum are a very small population of filers, and some don't care to come back and inform the forum etc.

So, what we are doing is all speculation.

i am trying hard to not think about this and just stay busy with work and other stuff. Not that it is working too well. :)

Thinking every minute every second about this will just ruin the quality of life and will make harder for time to go by.

Yes i am with you guys worried about the dreaded RFE and hoping things go fine so that my wife and i can go ahead and do other things like just buy an effin house already :)

Plam: you can get an infopass appointment to get I 551 stamp. Once you have the stamp, you should be free to travel without any hassle. I have traveled outside the country twice after getting my stamp in Dec.

I am planning on getting the stamp once my first summer semester is over. I have to take at least half a day to get to an office wait for an appointment and then hopefully hit no traffic at least one way lol.

I don't want to travel by the time waiting for an adjustment simply because if I do so, it will be for a month and nothing less, meanwhile God knows what VSC can ask for or do. With us moving between the adjustment in our new house is hassle enough. I bet when they issue the GC they will send it to the old address lol

Me thinks that your lawyer wants you to stay off of the forum for financial reasons$$$$...wants to keep you as a client so you will use them when it comes time to file citizenship...hence charging you and arm and a leg for this service, when you can put together your citizenship packet for a lot less. Immigration lawyers don't like this site.

Well.... first of all, "an arm and a leg of a charge" is subjective. For some it is "an arm and a leg" for some it is "peanuts" for some it is "not bad! "

It is really not alot of money they charge. Most people spend more on dinners and night outs in a month.

I believe in lawyers myself and would not cheap out on spending a couple of bucks to save me all the hassle of putting together the paperwork, or when one's future is involved. Do you refrain from going to the doctor or buying health insurance when you can maybe obtain antibiotics by having one of your cousin doctors calling in a prescription? No.

Sure i would use my lawyer again for citizenship purposes also, that is if i choose to file for citizenship.

These cases are mostly added bonuses for the immigration lawyers since they make most of their money from other pressing immigration issues for corporations etc. H1 B visas, L1 visas, J-1 etc.

sammyboy34 why did your lawyer say to keep off the forums?

1. Because everyone's case is different and it is hard to generalize based on this

2. Small populatiion of the filers exists here

3. To keep my sanity and not worry about the 751 day in and day out.

Yet, i do stay on the forums, to keep myself somewhat informed. Every one here is a good support group.

Moemac: I like professional advice such as Lawyers, CPA etc...because it makes my life easier. IN this case they havent charged much....it made it very easy for me to simply email stuff to her without leaving my office. She took care of this simple paper work etc. I never once left the office. Even her help came and got the pics from me from my office. I will use her again at the time of filing the citizenship to simply make it seamless for me. Over the years I have learned to rely on professional advice and that has saved me a lot of hassle in business. Sammyboy's lawyer is right. Everyone's case is different. but this simply gives us an idea of how far they have processed the other cases.

Moemac: It looks increasingly difficult that you and I will be able to vote for Hillary. :-)
