Hey fellow November filers!

My filing window opens Nov 3, so I'm hoping to send in my package as soon as possible after that. We're traveling for the Xmas break so I really want to get it in and hope that biometrics will be done early in December so it's settled before we leave.

If anyone has a moment to take a look at my list of documentation and make suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

  • Copies (front & back) of the green cards of me, kid1 and kid2
  • Copy of driver’s licenses, showing USC and me at the same address
  • Transcripts of the tax returns filed jointly for 2012 and 2013
  • Bank statements from bank: joint accounts for USC and me, and accounts held jointly with kid1 and kid2
  • Confirmation of family health coverage for 2012, 2013 and 2014 showing me, kid1 and kid2 as covered dependents
  • Copy of dental summary for 2013 showing USC, me, kid1 and kid2 on same account
  • Copy of life insurance policy held by me showing USC as beneficiary
  • Copy of life insurance policy held by USC showing me as primary beneficiary
  • Copies of 2013 and 2014 car insurance notices for USC and me showing joint policy
  • Copies of PG&E bills from 2012, 2013 and 2014 showing a joint account
  • Copies of water bills from 2012, 2013 and 2014 showing a joint account
  • Copies of the children’s school emergency forms showing USC and me as main contacts at the same address as the children, 2013 and 2014
  • Copies of our boarding passes for family vacations we took in February 2013 and August 2014
  • Pictures of our family: carving pumpkins October 2012; at a SF Giants game June 2013; carving pumpkins October 2013; on a tall ship cruise November 2013; at Disneyland March 2014; and at a SJ Giants game June 2014
  • Two sworn affidavits, attesting to our relationship and marriage

We did not include any documentation showing me as a joint owner of the family home. USC has owned our home since 1999 and therefore is the only person named on the ownership and finance papers.

The K-1 Visa journey for myself and my two K-2 children:

K-1: NOA1 2011-8-10; NOA2 2012-1-12; Interview 2012-4-24; Visa issued 2012-9-17; POE (Sarnia) 2012-9-26; Wedding! 2012-10-02
AOS: NOA1 2012-11-20; Biometrics 2012-12-14; AP/EAD approved 2013-1-11; Interview 2013-1-31; 2-yr Green cards in hand 2013-2-9 (101 days total)

ROC: NOA1 11-7-14; Biometrics 12-1-14; 10-yr Green cards ordered 4-13-15! (157 days total)

Looks good. My packet has 300 pages in it. I threw in everything. What about a couple of wedding pics as well? I saw that some other people included wills with their information as well.

I see that you live in San Jose, my little sis lives in Los Gatos and owns a hat store in downtown Los Gatos..I love it there!!

You must be over the moon that the Giants won the world series.

I think it is so funny that we both have almost identical time lines in terms of our K1's, AOS and are again going thru this process. I think that we even had our K1 interview on the same day in April of 2012.

I remember that we had our interviews in Montreal the same day. I didn't know the rest of our timelines were so similar though! It's good to "see" you again. :)

300 pages! Whew! I wondered about the marriage certificate and wedding pictures, but I submitted all of that when we did AOS, so I'm thinking it's already on file with them. Why bother sending it in again. The more the better though, for sure. I'll give the wedding pictures and our wills some thought. Thanks for your feedback!

Los Gatos -- lovely town! Your sister is lucky to live there. So beautiful. Yay Giants! (though honestly, mostly at this point I'm just saying "yay the baseball season is over!) lol

We havent even started to prepare this , i am freaking out. My GC is going to expire on 18th of Dec 2014.

Is it too late ?

No not late but it is time to put it all together and get it out!

Question:

We wrote ours as WE. We also both signed it.

Finally done! The package is ready to be sent out first thing tomorrow to CSC.
