Hey everyone. couple questions about DS-156. this may be a dumb one but anyways-#35 asks if visa was ever canclled or revoked. My fiancees first tourist visa for the US was just a temporary one and expired 3 months after it was issued. when she went for her second tourist visa the following year, they stamped her previous one as "cancelled without prejudice" so would that fall under the cancelled category or do they just mean visas that had been cancelled due to violations, etc?

my second question is about #36- asking if anyone ever filed an immigration visa under my fiancees behalf. Do I count for this question as the petitioner or do they mean people prior to me? The sample form has this box checked No.

Thanks for your help.

Paul123,

I would answer #35 with a 'yes'. They'll ask why, she'll explain, there will be no issue, and on to the next item.

I take the word "anyone" to mean what it says. But it probably makes no difference. They know you submitted a petition for her, she wouldn't be there if you hadn't and they have your approved petition right there in their hand.
