Unless you've renounced your citizenship, he's your president as well. How do people get around that? I'm an American, but the American President isn't MY President.

Nah. He's just a putz community organizer who's in over his head. He's not smart enough to have planned the mess he's gotten America into. It's gross incompetency and ignorance. Still, he's responsible for what he's done.

Regardless, if these are American patients, we can't keep them from getting the medical care this country can provide them.

I respectfully disagree with you. They should be treated where they were infected. Why risk the spread?

If I were infected in Africa, I would STAY in Africa so I wouldn't put my family at risk. But that's just me.

The interesting thing is that Rick Perry gets a pass from the motley crew...

It’s probably no accident, either, that it happened in Rick Perry’s Texas. More than 1.5 million Texans, with a median income of $833, are going uninsured because Perry rejected Medicaid funding. Medicaid wouldn’t have helped Duncan, but it might help someone exposed to him. Right now Youngor Jallah, the woman who got Duncan to the hospital when his symptoms worsened, says she doesn’t have Medicaid or any health insurance.

And he's still your president. Just like all other presidents who make mistakes.

When I voted for Mccain in 2008, and Obama won, he was still my president. When I was a kid, I didn't say, since I didn't vote I can't claim a president. As a military member, we're taught to never disrespect the chain of command, and the POTUS is in it.

Then sorry for insinuating you voted for Obama. The way you voice your support for him here I assumed you did.

The military does teach that. But in your time of service, have you ever seen a chain of command that did not deserve said respect? I know I have.

I'd bet we all have but in the end there is a job to be done and everyone must be on the same note, even when morale is not at 100%.

Sometimes it sucks but that's what we all signed up for...

I think war for any country is one of those things that comes with the job.

Of course. You sound surprised.

Here's the thing. I think he is okay as President. Not the best, and not the worse. I just don't blame every single bad thing to happen in life on him. It's kind of childish.

Of course there are plenty of folks that don't deserve respect, I work for some right now. But, the UCMJ clearly states the rules. You can be kicked out for doing it IRL or online. I guess I just don't find comfort in complaining about a person with such enthusiasm.

For someone who claims to be middle of the road, you seem to lean to the right, a lot...

Good thing Liberia and Sierra Leone aren't communities or we might have one of them thar ˌepəˈdemik thingies going on...

Thank you Dave. I think we already covered what an epidemic is and where it is occurring. Somebody did ask the question.

In case your curious, the situation we currently have with Ebola in the USA is referred to as an outbreak. As the title says - 2nd case in the US.

The real issue here is that no matter what you call it, it's something we have to deal with.

Far more pressing than any other consideration is the question 'what are we going to do about it'. We've done well so far and we need to raise the bar once again, as we did in the past, during similar circumstances.

What's political about it?
